Insider is hiring a UK-based Senior Producer to join our News and Documentary video team as a producer and editor on one of its flagship shows, "Still Standing".

We are looking for an ambitious journalist who is overflowing with ideas. This person has a strong mastery of storytelling and writing for video and is an excellent video editor who is excited at the prospect of telling stories from around the world. The candidate will help create videos for a global audience across the web and social media platforms. The ideal candidate should be familiar with our work and eager to learn and lean into our style.

'Still Standing' features traditional businesses and crafts that have survived against the odds. Our stories take intense research and reporting to find and develop. An eye for strong visuals is a must. We sometimes go into the field, but remote producing skills are an essential part of this job.

The Senior Producer will work with a team of US and UK-based producers and editors, will pitch story ideas, communicate with freelancers around the world, write scripts with attention to accuracy, and edit highly visual and character-driven episodes that are about 10 minutes long.

Required skills:

The highest journalism standards and a sharp eye for fact-checking and accuracy
Accomplished in conversational script writing
Strong skills in Adobe Premiere
Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects and other Adobe software is a plus
A keen eye for story selection and crafting story angles
Understanding of YouTube metrics and analysis is a plus.
The Senior Producer should be a multi-skilled video journalist capable of making hit series from pitch to publishing.

Candidates should have:

Ability to regularly come up with ideas and pitches for stories from around the world
A passion for storytelling through video, specifically about different cultures worldwide
Ability to work quickly and collaboratively with a fast-paced team
An eye for details and for moments that elevate videos to the next level
Ability to quickly write scripts and edit videos while keeping a close eye on details
Ability to fact-check information and find/consult primary sources
Knowledge of audio recording and voice-over skills are a plus
A collaborative spirit and a willingness to learn
A commitment to fair and inclusive storytelling

Ideal candidate requirements:

5+ years producing digital video journalism
Proven track record of compelling writing style, specifically for TV or video.
Experience working under high journalistic standards and a passion for deep original reporting.
The work will be remote, with the option to work from our office in central London. The showrunner is in London, but most of the Still Standing team is based in the USA. That means time management, planning and committing to deadlines are essential to ensure a good workflow.
