We are excited to be recruiting a Senior Technician (Stage) to join our team in Woking! The complex Comprises of three exciting and thoroughly individual venues, The 1321-seat New Victoria Theatre, the 228-seat Rhoda McGaw Theatre and the 7-screen Nova Cinema. The New Victoria Theatre opened in 1992 and established itself as one of the foremost theatres in the South East. Boasting state of the art facilities, excellent acoustics and clear sight lines it has hosted first class theatre from the likes of the National Theatre, Mathew Bourne and Northern Ballet.

Within this role, you'll report to the Deputy Technical Manager and be responsible for Full Time and Casual Technicians. You will be one of the key contacts on site for the stage department for visiting companies, providing information and services to them as required for the purposes of smooth show running. The post holder is expected to work on the show calls for most visiting productions, either on Stage, Fly's, or as a Duty Technician. and will work most fit-ups and get-outs. You will also assist the Deputy Technical Manager in managing the maintenance of stage equipment, the flying system and lifting equipment, ensuring prompt and appropriate action is taken within budgetary and operational constraints.

We are looking for an experienced Technician who has a commitment to providing a high level of service and care. Who is multi-skilled in all aspects of Technical Theatre with knowledge of stage and flying. Your energy and enthusiasm will be complimented by your calm, methodical approach to work and you will have a passion for live theatre.

Essential

Knowledge/experience in large scale production stagecraft
Knowledge/experience of operating and maintaining counterweight flying systems
IT literate (Word, Excel)
Desirable

5 years experience working in a Technical Department in a large-scale theatre
Excellent knowledge of Theatre techniques, rigging and terminology
Experience in motivating a team
