MTV is looking for a Senior Shows Editor to join the Digital Media team. You will be responsible for the over-arching content strategy, as well as creating, producing and publishing online entertainment content to support commissioned and acquired TV shows in MTV's roster, including the likes of Geordie Shore, Ex on the Beach, Just Tattoo Of Us, The Charlotte Show, Teen Mom UK and many more.With responsibility for the creative and editorial strategy of shows on MTV UK's digital and social platforms, you will plan campaigns to support the programmes, maintain the website throughout (and between) series, and always ensure the highest editorial standards. You will also oversee shows support across social media, products and commercial opportunities, and be deeply embedded within production of short-form digital series tied to each liner commission.The role requires extensive digital experience in an entertainment environment, editorial judgment and flair, strong attention to detail, and the ability to juggle, prioritise and schedule multiple tasks at any given time.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESManage a team of producers and video editors to ensure content is being produced cross-platform (Snapchat Discover, MTV.co.uk, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube etc) to align with business calendarsManage the daily publishing schedule and timely release of shows content including video, photos and news stories, and ensure these are effectively promoted across the website and social media platforms.Lead the online strategy, editorial content pipeline and interactive elements for linear TV shows e.g. Geordie Shore, Ex on the Beach etc.Forecast how MTV's digital audience will respond to on-air shows and make decisions to best populate the site in anticipationCultivate strong working relationships with MTV's Marketing, Press, News, Creative, Commissioning, Technology, Ad Sales and Research teamsAdvocate digital needs of individual series by educating and guiding production teams on effective digital content experiencesGrow traffic to the MTV websites to meet ad sales targetsImplement on-air throws, in-site promotion, navigation and cross-linking to key contentManage UK full episodes library to support multiplatform and content syndication businessWork with technology and operations team to deliver publishing developments and enhancements to shows UI/UXWork with video encoding technology such as Premier and problem-solve when workflow issues ariseLead ideas and creation for digital-only contentEnsure all content meets editorial standards and guidelinesEnsure all content complies with restrictions imposed by linear carriage deals (e.g. SKY) and all rights and clearances are properly adhered to. Act as key stakeholder for policy usage of digital content across all departmentsCreate competitions and promotions as requested by other departmentsROLE-SPECIFIC SKILLS/ATTRIBUTESProven experience in digital content production at a major commercial media, entertainment or creative brand or interactive agency, particularly in the TV and/or entertainment spaceExperience developing content cross-platformStrong proven track record of working on multi-platform and online production projects with a good working knowledge of content management systems and basic HTMLAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment handling several ongoing tasks, sometimes with competing requirementsStrong command of spelling, grammar and self-editing, able to generate SEO-centric copy for news stories, videos, photos and other contentProven experience of managing online editorial assets to achieve audience growthExcellent verbal communication, relationship building and presentation skillsExperienced user of website publishing systems and photo optimisation software (Photoshop)Strong organizational process and time management skillsExperience in multiplatform content extensions and original content productionExperience using key social platforms to drive website traffic eg.
