Job Title: Senior Production AccountantReporting to: Head of ProductionWorking Pattern: Full-time role, with flexible working package available depending on the requirements of the successful applicant.Are you an experienced Production Accountant looking for a dynamic role within a growing and innovative company? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Senior Production Accountant. This role has been expertly managed by a predecessor who is now relocating, providing a unique chance for you to step in and make a significant impact.As our company continues to expand, we are looking for a proactive and dedicated professional to take charge of all aspects of Production Finance across our existing and future projects. You will play a crucial role in shaping the financial landscape of our productions, with ample opportunity for personal and professional growth.The current team consists of a Finance Coordinator and a Payroll and Finance Officer, who manage day-to-day transactions. You will be joining a collaborative environment where your expertise and insights will be highly valued.Candidate Requirements:• This is a senior role for an experienced Production Accountant, requiring confident interaction with production teams and senior management from the start.• Experience with HMRC tax incentives for high-end TV productions, including Cultural Test applications and Tax Credit monitoring and audits, is highly desirable.• Experience with major funders such as BBC, Netflix, Disney, and Google is necessary.• Background in Natural History and/or Documentary productions is advantageous.• Previous experience with PMI is highly desirable, as all finance aspects are managed on this platform.• We seek a great team player who understands the importance of the relationship between production and finance and can adapt to the constantly changing production environment in a growing, successful group.Key Responsibilities:• Collaborate with the Head of Production, Production Executive and Production Managers to ensure accurate cost reporting to funders monthly or quarterly as required.• Manage the Finance Coordinator and Payroll and Finance Officer, including supervising their day-to-day work and providing training as needed.• Manage workloads, authorize transactions, maintain compliance with UK and international tax rules, and keep transactions flowing through the system.• Serve as the point of contact for production finance queries related to compliance and managing issues during filming, often in remote areas.• Work with Production Management to develop budgets, create and manage cash flows, and calculate tax credits, ensuring maximum recoveries from production budgets.• Issue invoices to funders, broadcasters in line with production milestones to ensure prompt receipt of cash.• Manage timing of month-end tasks and closing ledgers in PMI to meet group and production reporting deadlines.• Manage year-end production audits, liaise with auditors, and handle relevant tax credit claims.• Oversee production clear-up and close-down procedures, including preparing applicable materials for tax credit and managing SPV audits for productions.• Be ready and eager to manage all aspects of the role, which will evolve over time asproduction demands change.Offer:Salary based on experience.ApplicationsIf you are interested please send your CV Closing date is 9am Friday 9th August 2024 with interviews anticipated to take place soon after.If you haven't heard back from us by the end of August you have not been successful for an interview this time, but please do say on your CV if you would like us to keep it on file for future job opportunities.We are an inclusive employer and particularly welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and under-represented groups.
