Senior Post Production Technical Assistant

London

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Post Production Technical Assistant to work in our Post Production Department. In this role you will be responsible for leading a team of Post Production Technical Assistants, working in conjunction with several other Post Production teams. You will also provide an advisory role for other areas of Post Production and in managing first-line support in for Post Production engineering.

Working with a team of experienced editors, post production engineers and workflow specialists, technical training will be provided to the right candidate to progress career development. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone that has worked in a post-production environment for two to three years and is looking for a new challenge.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN YOUR NEW ROLE?

Managing the workload and rota of the Post Production Technical Assistant team
Liaising with Post Bookings and Post Engineering and Media Management departments daily
Helping with planning and workflow of new Post Production projects
Trouble shooting any Post Production or edit suite issues
Assisting with Post Production Technical Assistant work, such as:
The preparation of offline and online edit suites
Provide operational desktop support for Avid, Premiere Pro & Dalet editing systems
Digitising and capturing footage from various sources
Working closely with the media management team
Assist with transcoding and file based workflows
Assist in proofing and QC of digital media encodes and broadcast deliverables
Provide operational editing assistance to clients

DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS?

Candidates must be educated in a media or technical related subject.
Strong problem solving skills and experience are crucial.
Must be confident in communicating with clients.
Minimum 2 years experience of working with editing systems, ideally an Avid environment.
A strong understanding of video file formats and codecs

DO YOU HAVE THESE DESIRABLES?

Experience and good knowledge with Adobe Premiere editing systems
Some Pro Tools experience certainly an advantage.
Experience and practice of coming up with basic media workflows
Preparation of media: importing, exporting, transcoding, to a variety of formats
Experience and knowledge of media management tools
