We are looking for a Senior Moving Light Technician to join the National Theatre Lighting Team.The purpose of the role is as follows:To work as part of the Lighting Resources team, (Moving Light bias), as the lead technician primarily responsible for the coordination, preparation, maintenance, servicing, testing, and logging of all the National Theatre's Moving Light Fixtures, LED Fixtures, Intelligent Power Control Systems and Smoke, Haze, and Low Fog Machines.Support the Lighting Resources, Operations & Control Managers and Supervisors with identifying common faults across the performance spaces and standardising the maintenance program across the NT.Lead & maintain the internal training of all lighting technicians on all moving light and LED unit servicing through rolling and planned maintenance sessions.Support planned maintenance work with the Lighting Resources team and ensure compliance with current safety and electrical regulations for all equipment, including Portable Appliance Testing.Update the Lighting Resources Department databases, ensuring that equipment is logged and tracked and that test results are recorded correctly.Work closely with the NT Lighting Resources Manager & Supervisors to provide technical support and maintenance for Events and architectural lighting systems across the NT, including foyers, exterior areas, and the NT Studios.To be a 'Responsible Person' in terms of assessing and certifying Production/ Project/ Event related Temporary Electrical Installations in adherence to BS7671 & BS7909 in all activity.The successful candidate will have the following: A detailed and proven working knowledge of moving light, smoke machine & LED intelligent equipment maintenance within a theatre or warehouse environmentAn appropriate qualification or demonstrable experience in electronics or related subject that shows a very thorough understanding of the use of electricity and data distribution and networking systems when applied to professional entertainment production lighting systemsExtensive experience working in a Professional Lighting EnvironmentAn appropriate qualification or demonstrable experience of In Service Inspection & Testing (formally PAT testing) and BS7909 (Temporary Electrical Installations)To be able to demonstrate supervisory and team leadership skillsIf that sounds like you, this may be the role for you!Working with us will give you...Complimentary staff tickets for shows and NT Talks and Events, subject to availability and policy.Discounts in the NT's bars, cafes, restaurants, and bookshop, as well as in local businesses (from Wagamama to local childcare providers & gyms on and around the South Bank)Access to interest-free season ticket loan and Cyclescheme partnershipPension schemes with Legal & General and NESTSabbatical option, subject to agreement and policyGenerous sick payFamily-friendly employer with supporting policiesHybrid and flexible working, subject to agreement and policyTraining and Development Programme via e-learning platform, and specialist in-person training relating to role.On-site Occupational Health and welfare supportFree-to-access Employee Assistance Programme, enabling counselling and mental wellbeing support, financial and legal advice, and advice on caring responsibilities.On-site staff canteen and barStaff networks including Amplified: The Ethnically Diverse Network; Disability Staff Network; LGBTQ+ Network; Parents and Parents & Carers NetworkThe NT is also a member of Parents and Carers in the Performing Arts (PiPA)Please note the closing date for the receipt of a completed application is Friday 5th April ?2024 at 12 noon.
