Senior Media Systems Specialist

London HYBRID

THE ROLE:
We are looking for a Senior Media Systems Specialist to join our Creative Content team, based out of our London service office. This role will suit an established or Senior post Production Edit Assistant looking for their next step.

This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. These discussions are between you and your manager to find the best pattern for you both! We will kit you out to work from home but know that working as a team is what makes us great and spending quality time together is essential for keeping us mission-aligned.

WHY WE NEED YOU:
We are an in-house creative agency producing global and local branded content, including long form programming, live streams; both online and on location, and short form social content. We need you to ensure the continued end to end technical operations of the Creative Content production team. This will include, but is not limited to: on premise edit suite and data centre operations (London, St Martin's Lane currently); cloud based editing; off premise editing; media management and archive; location, based event DIT, ingest and editing; and cloud based streaming (online events).

The Senior Media Systems Specialist will be hands on, and deliver a 1st rate technical solution in the above areas.

Alongside the Head of Technical Operations, the successful applicant will streamline, develop, improve and maintain the workflows and systems required for the above. Continual learning and adjustment will be involved as technologies develop. Local and international travel to company events and trade fairs will be expected. This is not a 9-5 role and will require a high level of autonomy.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
The successful applicant will have a high level of expertise in video post-production techniques, workflows and cloud based (AWS) production technologies including network and security protocols and experience of SDI, NDI, SRT, PCoIP. Expertise in DIT practices along with encoding, QC and deliverables for broadcast and social media channels is also required. You will be calm under pressure and a genuine team player.

Responsibilities
- Maintenance and development of the Post Production department
- Day to day oversight of the edit suites and media management including general editing and assisting duties: Avid Interplay/media organization; QC; sync maps; encoding and deliverables creation
- Onboarding and training reports as required
- Consider and develop team's production technical requirements both at home and on location, remotely, in the cloud and on premise
- Attending trade fairs
- Overseeing and managing media ingest during shoots and outside broadcasts events in the UK and abroad
- Developing and implementing best practice
- Supporting the Group's strategic production requirements
- Establishing, maintaining and enhancing relationships with all team members
- A genuine enthusiasm for production technologies in this rapidly developing field will be expected.

YOUR EXPERIENCE
You will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a networked post production environment and be expert in broadcast recording technologies and AWS based virtual machine implementation.

As the ideal candidate, you will have:
- Honed problem solving skills and a proven track record in media systems management:
- High level of cloud based computing expertise
- High level of IBM and Mac familiarity including network configurations for broadcast and post production setups including Active Directory.
- High level of competence with media creation tools including but not limited to Avid Media Composer, Interplay, Nexus, I-O Devices, Adobe Creative Cloud, Telestream Vantage
- Experience of working on live and post produced sports programming
- Experienced in administering and maintaining hardware base production tools, NAS, SAN, Networking and associated techniques
- Excellent communicator
- Detail-oriented and deadline-focused
- Proactive and natural problem-solver
- Ability to liaise and manage relationships with internal and external clients and suppliers
- Ability to multi-task and to adapt easily to change
- Established contacts within the industry
- Preference will be given to candidates who can also show a high level of competence with online streaming and recording software, Vmix, OBS and associated technologies and systems.
- Experience within the gaming sector, plus a knowledge of, or passion for poker, would be desirable.
