RealtimeUK are looking for an exceptionally talented Senior matte painter with solid experience in a similar role to join the expanding team. This is a pivotal role in the company because we want someone to take ownership of Matte delivery and quality with the Art Director, and look to own and lead this department as well as create first class DMP's for our projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:-

Create stellar Matte Paintings for projects across cinematic trailers, TV, Film and more.
Develop the workflow and approach that RealtimeUK take to create, refine and delivery Matte Paintings of the highest quality.
Work with the Art Director, CG Director and Leads to help shape the visual look and feel for assets required for projects.
Support the team working with relevant assets to deliver matte paintings including live action, CG and VFX.
Bring matte paintings to final delivery using multiple implementations including both 2D backplates, 3D matte projections and over-painting/texturing on existing plates/assets.
Sketch out ideas and develop mood pieces to support the treatment and pitch process for prospective projects.
Communicate effectively with the Art Director and Cg Director to ensure that Mattes provide the sense of place and perspective needed for particular shots.
Look to help mentor and grow less senior artists who are developing their matte painting skills.

MUST HAVE SKILLS & QUALITIES:

Great background on proven high quality projects as a matte painter such as TV and Film projects.
Excellent knowledge of the matte painting process including colour space, integration, managing various files, and incorporating 2D, 3D assets, photobash and more into one cohesive image.
Good knowledge of principals of photography (lighting, image composition and depth).
Ability to properly interpret vision and direction into appropriate assets efficiently.
Good variety of work in terms of settings, styles and type of work (flexibility is key as our projects are highly varied).
