Leeds hybrid HYBRID

The Senior Digital Content Operations & Rights Manager is responsible for the operations management behind the creation and distribution of 4Studio content across all social platforms. Working closely with our content creatives, social platform specialists and Business Affairs' Rights teams, you will help ensure there is consistency in how content is tracked, monetised, delivered and reported upon correctly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Line Management & Stakeholder Liaison
You will lead and manage a small team of digital content operations specialists, covering the areas detailed below to support the management, creation and distribution of 4Studio content across all platforms (included but not limited to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, X & Threads).
This role will also work very closely with rights, legal, compliance, platform and analytics specialists within Channel 4 to ensure our Digital Content Operations are effective and deliver value for our wider business.
Rights Management
You will fulfil our rights management responsibilities relating to content ownership on digital and social channels, along with owning our music rights position across our digital assets and content.
Line managing the 4Studio Production Assistant, you will be the day-to-day contact with the Channel 4 Music Rights team, acting as a conduit between the 2 teams, ensuring music
rights information from shows across our current schedule and back catalogue is up to date and all music usage can be accurately reported.
You will also work incredibly closely with Channel 4's Business Affairs and Rights teams, serving as a fulcrum between departments to ensure there is clear, catalogued and responsive communication, to ensure clarity at all times around often multi-faceted and complex Rights positions behind the content we create and publish to Social media.
You'll become 4Studio's go-to Digital Rights expert, advising internal parties, and building relationships with external production partners to allow for swift and efficient unblocking of content opportunities on both sides.
Social/Digital Content Ownership & Management
Line managing the Content ID Assistant, you ensure all our content published across social media is tracked, monetised, optimised, and reported correctly.
You will bring structure and support to the tracking of our rights positions per show, channel and platform, being our expert and helping your colleagues understand how we can optimise our content to deliver against our KPIs.
You will be responsible for ensuring we use the appropriate Content ID & rights management tools on the social media platforms, especially on YouTube & Facebook, enabling 4Studio to effectively police, track, block and monetise duplicate content uploaded by others, proactively identifying and communicating accounts infringing copyright on Channel 4 content on other platforms (TikTok, Instagram etc), and ensuring we are reactive to counter-claims against our own published content.
Working closely with our teams in Social, Rights, Operations and Platform Partnerships, you'll understand the whole process, from the uploading content for 'fingerprinting' for social, all the way through to tracking monetisation of its performance - and you'll understand and be able to support the resolution of problems that may arise along the way.
You will understand and be able to implement platform publishing, age-gating, geo-targeting & monetisation policies, and be able to react & adapt when positions change.
You will be accountable for timely responses & resolution of all Content ID queries and operations for the social channels we manage.
You will be an excellent record keeper, knowing the best way to track & monitor our own activities in this space as well as those of our 3rd party partners.
Working with C4 InfoSec, you will be responsible for the administration and management of account security, ensuring account access and password details are properly and safely managed. Similarly, where relevant, you will be responsible for logging & tracking details of 3rd party managed social accounts.
As a new and evolving area for 4Studio, you will work closely with the Social, Rights, Operations and Platform Partnerships teams to identify opportunities, enhancements or potential blockers or issues across the content operations process, leading on developing and implementing new and innovative solutions and communicating effectively with all parties.
You'll help manage and improve the workflow of content through Channel 4 for Content distribution and Digital Rights Management purposes, working with 4Studio, Technology & Partner teams to embed and enhance solutions that deliver efficiency, scale & optimisation.
You'll be a pivotal part of helping us report on monetisation and performance of content, aligning with Analysts to identify successes and communicate learnings.
Digital Media Library
Line managing the 4Studio Content Librarian, you will ensure our video & asset library is well managed to enable seamless content delivery and availability for our 4Studio teams.
You will be responsible for ensuring content requests, asset ingestion and file transfer of all our programme and original footage is well managed and continuously improving, ensuring the video content is where it needs to be to enable our content creatives to produce, edit & publish the work we're famous for. To enable this you will ensure that the tools and platforms we use are best in class and seamlessly integrated within our workflows and processes.
You will oversee content delivery schedules, including identifying changes in tools or workflows that would optimise delivery, formatting and encoding. This may involve some liaison with tech delivery teams and production companies as well as other stakeholders'.
You will oversee the effective cataloguing and data management of our content library, (including but not limited to: metadata, naming conventions, logging, archiving and time coding), and ensure your team accurately prepares and maintains appropriate logs and documentations.
You will ensure training & workshops are provided for team members on our asset archive systems and workflows, to help knowledge distribution and promote a self-serve mentality across 4Studio.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
You will be a digital rights specialist, understanding how to maximise and ensure optimal distribution of content.
You will have experience of digital content management from archiving, content transfer, publishing & management at all stages of the content lifecycle.
You will understand what it takes to create and deliver processes that maximise content distribution on Social Media and Digital platforms.
Experience within a YouTube Rights, Video Operations, or Digital Content Management team.
Excellent line management skills and experience of people development
Your attention to detail and record keeping skills will be impeccable, as you'll be responsible for supporting 4Studio & our production company partners on the nuanced positions around social media rights.
You'll need to manage a busy and variable workload, so your organisational skills need to be on point.
You will need to be diligent, keeping meticulous records and chasing deliveries & deadlines.
You'll be confident in identifying how processes can be defined or improved. Things move fast in digital content, so we're always looking for ways to do things better.

All our offices are open five days a week.
