We're looking for a talented, creative leader and social media expert to lead our teen-facing social media team for Children's. You'll have extensive experience in leading and developing teams, harnessing and encouraging creative thinking, and a clear vision for how to engage audiences on social platforms.Social media is central to Children's strategy in an increasingly fragmented digital space. We want to make sure our shows reach as many families in the UK as possible, not just those who watch CBeebies and CBBC already. We are making more content for the 13-16s audience and social strategy will be crucial in helping that content find its fans, working closely in partnership with the BBC iPlayer social team and the wider Content social teams. Our focus for CBBC is growing our Instagram account and working with influencers, but we also have a Facebook page and three Twitter accounts. You'll appreciate why these accounts shouldn't target our under-12 TV audience directly - and understand how with the right content, we can appeal to a broad family audience, but also age-up our offering for teenage fans, too. You'll know exactly how to engage audiences across different platforms, and how to ensure our content is widely seen and shared by its target audiences.Role ResponsibilityYou will be the editorial lead for our teen-facing social accounts and you will own our relationship with that audience, providing essential insight into their behaviours. In partnership with the Social Media Editor, you will champion social media content across the department and be an advocate for the value it brings in terms of content discovery and audience engagement. You'll help communicate our strategy throughout the department and beyond across the BBC.An excellent communicator, you'll help lead a team of Content Producers and Researchers, making sure they conceive and communicate compelling social ideas to the wider Discovery and Content teams. You'll collaborate with TV executive producers and commissioning editors, to make sure we're making and being delivered the best quality content that's pitched just right for our teenage audiences. You'll be supremely comfortable dealing with talent and contributors and you'll help forge strong relationships with other BBC and external social accounts. As this is a job-share arrangement you will need to work collaboratively and openly with your job-share partner, ensuring you both speak with the same voice and are consistent in your decision-making and strategic direction. Are you the right candidate? You'll have industry-leading knowledge of the social media landscape and its principal platforms - as well as having a keen awareness of developing trends. Using this experience you will work with linear and interactive teams to develop strategic cross-platform plans around high-priority brands. You'll have strong team leadership experience, and portfolio management experience.Package DescriptionBand: DContract type: 6 month FTC/Attachment - Part Time 2.5 days p.weekLocation: MediaCityUK, Salford
