A new role is being created within the Commercial Projects department, during an exciting period of company expansion, to deliver productions on behalf of the NGOs, charities, think tanks, small ethical businesses and UN agencies with which we work. The position is initially offered for 3 days per week, and we are happy to distribute this amount of time over the working week as best suits the right candidate. In hiring for this role, we are open to taking on a freelancer through a long-term agreement, or can offer a salaried/PAYE contract.REPORTS TO: Managing Director & Co-Founder (with dotted line to the Business Development Director)PERIOD: 12 month fixed term, with scope to extendDIRECT REPORTS: Junior Commercial Producer + occasionally other junior staffRESPONSIBILITIES: Some of the main areas you will be involved in include...1) ProductionCompleting film/audio/multimedia projects from start to finish and on time, including:Client liaisonBudgetingCrewing upConsents and releases forms (appearance and location)Maintaining and managing contact with contributors and crewCommunicating with internal colleagues Post-production supervising (with a focus on Adobe creative cloud projects)Scheduling, to avoid clashes that negatively impact crew and resourcesMonitoring milestones and assigned tasks to ensure that timelines are held to and projects are delivered on timeLiaising with the Creative Team to spot and cultivate broadcast and other funding and distribution opportunitiesFinding new crew and maintaining our crew rosterKeeping up to date with production techniques, as well as new forms of storytelling across social mediaWorking with the Managing Director to monitor and control all production budgets \r\nCreating impact reports for key projects, presenting these to colleagues and archiving them for ongoing future company useDESIRABLE: Editing productionsDESIRABLE: Devising and leading distribution of productionsDESIRABLE: Short form animationDESIRABLE: Designing and delivering outreach and impact campaignsCommunicationsManaging the company's social media outputs, using software (Buffer) to schedule messages covering both Commercial and Creative outputs as well as other corporate messagesContributing to the corporate newsletter Making website updatesContributing to tenders and other pitches for commercial projects, including budgets and timelines3) OtherContributing to, on a continual basis, the company's policies and procedures documentationLine-managing and providing guidance and support to the Junior Commercial Producer (when post is filled), with dotted lines to Researchers & Production Assistants NB This is a non-exhaustive list of responsibilities.EXPERIENCE: This is a mid/senior-level appointment and applicants should have a minimum of 5-10 years experience working in a comparable role, with similar level of responsibility. This should include producing animation, multimedia, mixed media, and live action productions, ideally as sole producer, delivered on behalf of clients such as those we work with. Essential experience:5-10 years work experience, ideally working in producing documentaries and films (including promos and animations) for the NGO sector in a senior role, leading projects, campaigns and\/or teamsManaging substantial projects in a flexible and nimble way Managing and juggling multiple fast-changing projects and priorities and switching contexts quickly between themWorking effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues alike to bridge any gaps in understandingCampaign/project idea generationKnowledge, understanding of and experience with social media marketing and web contentNice-to-haves:Technical skills - Can you edit? Can you use Premiere? Design - Are you a dab hand with Illustrator? Do you design pitching decks? We'd love someone with a designer's eye to join.Experience of proposal writingExperience of presenting at client pitchesScoping projects for clients - Are you good at helping clients imagine ambitious projects? Established relationships within the campaigning and third sector and/or commissioning editors in the broadcast world and funders in the film worldEstablished network of crew with which engagement is still maintainedExperience with business development work
