Senior Colour Assist

London

The Senior Colour Assist position requires an in-depth understanding of colour workflows as well as a proficiency in color grading using both Davinci Resolve and/or Baselight. This individual will work closely with the Senior Colourists and Production team on short term and occasional long form entertainment projects to deliver colour graded media to client satisfaction. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, a thorough understanding of the post-production process, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues alike.

Job Description
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


Assist Colourists before, during, and after client sessions
Carry out Colourist directed grade requests
Conform short form and long form, Commercial and Documentary projects from camera original files, delivered VFX and graphic elements
Perform basic optical & clean-up work, and manage the tracking of both inhouse and outsourced VFX work
Liaise directly with Editorial/VFX departments to coordinate workflows across departments
QC and approve/reject editorial work prior to preparing sessions for Senior Colourists
Render graded media for final conform and/or delivery
Output references for client approval
100% QC of all deliverables
Communicate directly with editorial teams, producers and Senior Colourists throughout the project, keeping all parties updated with project developments as they occur
Ability to interact with clients and perform quality work under deadline pressure
Overall responsibility for the Colour Assist Department and staff, ensuring high level of quality work, efficiency and reliability
Oversee junior colour assists work and training
Manage workflow and workload, delegating when needed to ensure all internal and external requests are dealt with promptly and efficiently
Other duties within the department, as assigned
Qualifications
Required qualifications and background:



Proven colour-related experience in a post-production facility environment
Knowledge of multi discipline professional post-production workflows
Thorough knowledge and understanding of colour theory, motion picture camera formats, resolutions, frame rates, and codecs
Experience with digital video compression and conversion techniques
Advanced experience of DaVinci Resolve/and Baselight software
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Avid Media Composer
Mac, Linux, and Windows OS proficiency
