Senior Cinematic UI / Motion Graphics Artist

The Senior Cinematic UI / Motion Graphics Artist will work with our experienced Cinematics team to help finish Squadron 42, a realistic sci-fi blockbuster video game. They will work to our established script and story, staging impressive hologram style animated sequences, using existing assets, and creating bespoke 2D and 3D graphic design artwork. All animation and setup will be in our game engine (e.g. not pre-rendered After Effects videos), which comes with its own benefits and restrictions, so we need someone who is excited to solve technical challenges and deliver great work to strict deadlines.
This is an onsite role based at our studio in Manchester, UK, for an 18-month fixed term contract.

What does a Senior Cinematic UI / Motion Graphics Artist at CIG do?
Work closely with the Cinematics team to create holographic animations for the story sequences of Squadron 42.
Take on the challenge of creating efficient real-time graphics within the constraints of our game engine that will run fast and look great.
Take ownership of work and push the quality bar for our holographic sequences.
Prototype and animate sequences to support the storytelling in the game.
Design and create 2D and 3D graphical elements that fit the game's art style.
Work as part of a small team to help them deliver finished shots to strict deadlines.
Actively learn new techniques, skills and technologies that are appropriate to the job.
What do we expect from our Senior Cinematic UI / Motion Graphics Artists?
Proven professional experience working in cinematic VFX, or video games cinematic animation.
Portfolio of appropriate work showcasing graphic design, digital cinematographic skills, timing and creativity.
Internally driven and proactive, with a drive to solve technical or time-based problems to deliver great work on time.
Good graphic design skills, and experience creating assets in Illustrator, Photoshop and current 3D packages.
Pluses
Up to date awareness of key movies and video game releases
Knowledge of video game development and the associate constraints
Experience working with version control software (Perforce, or similar).
