Level of Position : Senior Broadcast Engineer

Purpose of the Job: As the broadcast technology partner for TJC programme teams, Engineering Operations is responsible for keeping multi-media output available 24/365 for Live TJC and TJC Choice.

Engineering Operations also provides operational switching and monitoring of incoming and outgoing live and pre-recorded material across a range of TJC output, business continuity, broadcast duty management and a range of operational support services.

The Engineering Support group within Engineering Operations provides support for studios and broadcast infrastructure, digital production systems and PC and Mac desktops across domestic and international offices.

In Engineering Operations, we are purely responsible for broadcast technology - supporting programme production and broadcast activities on behalf of TV and online services.

This is not only across the TJC buildings at the Feltham site, but also includes some shared facilities in the studio block.

Key Responsibilities :
- Provides excellent service to users by ensuring that all incidents and service requests are professionally and correctly logged, documented and prioritised; asset records are kept accurate and up-to-date; and progress is effectively and respectfully communicated back to the user
-Minimises disruption to usersâ?? work activities by taking personal responsibility and accountability for work undertaken, resolving incidents and carrying out service requests in a timely manner, as well as ensuring planned work is communicated in advance
- Ensures that service and knowledge management tools are used effectively, and that agreed service management procedures are followed
- Works with the Broadcast Manager and Engineers to maintain and continually improve the service levels provided by the Front Line Support team Incident resolution and user requests - Interprets, diagnoses and resolves technical incidents within agreed service level timeframes
- Liaises with other TJC departments and external organisations through agreed processes and procedures to achieve resolutions and enable requests in a timely manner
- Complies with, and actions, the TJC major incident, broadcast continuity and emergency procedures as required
- Undertakes client account administration work and small projects as required Operational and proactive duties
-Monitors and maintains technical equipment and systems to the required safety and technical standards with minimum disruption to operational activities
-Maintains the accuracy of data to the agreed standard in key databases owned and managed by Engineering Operations
- Initiates and complies with Change Control procedures - understand the operation of technical equipment and the context of its use in production and broadcast activities

Conditions of Employment
Close collaboration with other Engineers with in the team and Broadcast Operations and Platform Control, Projects and Design functions within the Broadcast Services division
Educated to engineering or physics degree standard or equivalent.
Engaging communicator, Drive change, tech savvy
Experience on Kayak vision mixer, Ability to use video camera & pedestals
Previous Live Studio experience, An innovative approach may be required when working within the team to enable you to support fellow members, Clear and concise business communication skills.
