In the past year, Silverprint has produced Sarah Williams' darkly witty family thriller, Flesh and Blood for ITV, starring Imelda Staunton, along with Shetland for the BBC and Vera for ITV. Its previous output includes Dark Heart, Mr Selfridge, Jericho and Peter Morgan's The Jury.This role entails...An initial 12-Month Fixed Term Contract, the Script Executive will work with the Creative Director, Development Director and production teams in production and in development. In this fast-paced, high-end drama company, the Script Executive will lead the day-to-day script process during production and will ensure that all scripts and treatments meet the highest standard editorially and in production terms. In development, they will be an intrinsic support to the senior editorial team and will have excellent editorial judgment, a strong eye for new talent and a head for exciting ideas.Some Key Responsibilities: -Work closely with writers to ensure all scripts are delivered to schedule and coordinate and assemble notes from producers, directors and commissioners.-Conduct/oversee in-depth research to ensure script accuracy. -Discuss with Writers, any difficulties or inconsistencies which may arise from such research and to suggest ideas for possible alternatives where research suggests that the original idea is no longer viable.-Ensure proofread, formatted versions of scripts are ready for production.-Work closely with, and provide assistance to, all departments during production with script-related enquiries.-Participate in script meetings and write up notes accurately and with sensitivity. -Be a significant support in the development of commissioned and projects and newer ideas, alongside the Creative Director or Development Director.-Carry out research on targeted development projects moving forwards and, where time allows, suggest viable ideas/territories for new projects.-Extensive knowledge of writers, scripts and production processes, along with editorial guidelines of the relevant broadcaster or platform.To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:-A minimum of 2 years experience working as a Script Editor. -Extensive Continuing Drama credits and/or production credits on at least 2 shows. -Proven knowledge of and enthusiasm for television drama.-Excellent editorial skills with good written and verbal communication skills. -Experience of successfully working in a team in a fast-paced environment.-A passion for storytelling with editorial flair and taste and an in-depth knowledge of and enthusiasm for television drama, new writing and theatre.Find out more about our benefits http://www.itvjobs.com/why-join-us/benefits/We want to be the most flexible employer in Media.
