BBC Children's In-House Drama Team is responsible for a wide range of multi-platform drama and comedy including The Dumping Ground, 4 O'Clock Club, Hetty Feather, The Worst Witch, Katy, Molly and Mack and Creeped Out as well as a number of newly commissioned productions.

The Scripted Development team identifies and develops new ideas for drama and comedy for 0-16s. We are looking for an experienced Script Editor to join our team, to focus on two new commissioned dramas.

Role Responsibility
You will work closely with the Development Producer on the detailed development and script editing of two new dramas. Princess Mirror-Belle, a live action adaptation of Julia Donaldson's book series, for 5-7 year olds and an adaptation of a very well-known book brand as comedy drama for 3-6 year olds.

The aim is to follow one of these titles through from development to production, as Script Editor.

Are you the right candidate?
The ideal candidate will have production drama script editing experience as well as a passion for children's drama and comedy.

You'll have excellent communication skills and experience of working closely with writers to develop scripts from initial idea to final script. A fluent writing style is important (for notes, synopses etc).

Desirable experience includes working on adaptations and previous experience of working on content for a children's audience.

You'll have plenty of initiative, be able to adapt quickly to new challenges and enjoy working within a small, busy team.
