Runner

Manchester

BBC Children's is committed to offering the best cross-platform and on-demand service for all UK children, providing a trusted environment which is enriching, enabling and relevant to the under 16's. Our content seeks to entertain, inform and empower children, adding real value to their lives.

The Dengineers is a CBBC makeover series that creates dream dens for children all over the UK. The selected children who feature in the series all have strong ideas and a clear reason why they deserve their own den.

We are looking for a Runner to join The Dengineers team from April - August 2021.

Main Responsibilities
The Runner will work to the Assistant Producers and Producers on a number of Dengineer builds and episodes to achieve the editorial ambition for exciting and inspirational Dens for the deserving child contributors.

You will work closely with the wider production team in the organisation of the shoot, before heading to work on location with the design teams and crew, undertaking general runner duties including arranging meals, keeping track of paperwork on location and organising transportation for artists and crew.

Are you the right candidate?
You must hold a UK driving licence as the successful candidate will be expected to share the driving of a van to and from location anywhere in the UK. Previous experience of working with families and children is especially useful in this role.

You will have strong interpersonal skills as the runner is often the team member spending the most time with the child Dengineer's family on location. Experience of working on location will be a bonus. You will have strong organisational skills and experience working to multiple teams.

About the BBC
We don't focus simply on what we do - we also care how we do it. Our values and the way we behave are important to us. Please make sure you've read about our values and behaviours in the document attached below.

Diversity matters at the BBC. We have a working environment where we value and respect every individual's unique contribution, enabling all of our employees to thrive and achieve their full potential.

We want to attract the broadest range of talented people to be part of the BBC - whether that's to contribute to our programming or our wide range of non-production roles. The more diverse our workforce, the better able we are to respond to and reflect our audiences in all their diversity.

We are committed to equality of opportunity and welcome applications from individuals, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic background, religion and/or belief. We will consider flexible working requests for all roles, unless operational requirements prevent otherwise.
