We are looking for a Researcher for the leading Persian Satellite channel in the world - Manoto TV is part of the Marjan TV Network, which is based in London but targets the Persian speakers globally.
It's the most popular TV channel in Iran and among the Persian speakers in the UK. It has an estimated audience of 15 million.

The role is project specific and would be focused on gathering data and information on a wide range of global historical events and sourcing archive footage from news stories to pop culture and much more.

Role Responsibility

To support Producers and other members of the production team with the research work of the production and to work closely at all times to the editorial brief of the Producer.
To create a calendar of events suitable for the production.
To work as part of a strong and effective team, and using your judgment to refer upwards when appropriate.
To work effectively to ensure all content is thoroughly researched and meets the channel's editorial standards.
To collect, verify and prepare information for the production/s and ensure that the factual research and all the information used is accurate.
Source archive material suitable for the production.
Providing research to production staff in a clear, concise format/fact sheets

The Ideal Candidate:

Have a thorough background in TV research.
You will have experience in locating relevant sources of information and the ability to critically assess the quality and accuracy of information.
Enthusiasm and motivation, be keen to learn and have the courage to air your own opinions.
Have great numeracy and analytic skills and a good working knowledge of MS Office and Google Docs applications.
You will have the ability to produce accurate research information and detailed briefing notes and to distill information into usable treatments.
You will have the confidence to identify new angles to stories, recognise potential items and to originate and develop ideas.
Be resourceful and motivated.
Excellent written communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
Visual thinking and the ability to be adaptable yet methodical.
Capability to work well in a team and under pressure.
Strong IT and research skills.
Confidence and patience.
