Job Introduction

Role Responsibility
As the football Researcher, the successful candidate will support the BBC Football team in the week-to-week planning and research of football output.
This would include both football magazine programmes (Football Focus + MOTDx), our live FA Cup output, major tournaments alongside our digital football content.
They will generate ideas, stories and contribute to the creative treatment on an item or programme across platforms.
They will play an important role in booking guests (football and non-football) and arranging features with Premier League, Football League and WSL clubs.
The role will also require taking on multi-platform responsibility to ensure information about our football content is easily available to all platforms.

The Ideal Candidate
You have a proven track record of generating ideas, new treatments + stories for the digital/linear space specifically targeting an audience under 35 and an awareness of the digital landscape, content and contributors/guests/talent.

You will have experience in football research in television, radio, print journalism or interactive and the ability to identify key ideas, debates and issues within the field.
You will have a proven track record of contributing ideas and locating relevant sources of information, contributors and guests using initiative, perseverance and persuasion.
DV camera skills would be an advantage as the successful candidate may be expected to shoot material for Football Focus and the BBC Sport website.
This is not an entry level role, we're looking for candidates with experience within the area, please review the criteria for the role before applying.
