The Role
A full-time Researcher is required for a 3 month contract.
You will be a key member of the production team based in Deptford, London, helping develop programme and branded content ideas and researching stories for pitches and commissioned work. You will be expected to provide key research support for the whole team; generating and standing up ideas.
You will also be required to develop treatments and write pitches for ideas generated. You should be plugged into the world of documentaries and branded content with a good knowledge of the latest commissions and campaigns.

Main Duties
-After initial briefing, undertake independent research to a broad or specific brief, using all sources of reference, both internal and external, including proper note-taking.
-Find and make initial contact with appropriate contributors; ascertain their views; brief them on the project intentions; and judge whether they are suitable to present back to the team - this may require recceing and extensive phone bashing.
-Find locations for filming.
-Take part in brainstorms and help manage and update the development slate.
-Develop treatments for ideas.
-Write pitches.
-Take responsibility for delivering to tight deadlines while maintaining the highest editorial standards.

Required Experience
-This is not an entry level role. We are looking for someone who has proven experience in development and research.
-You will have excellent research and writing skills; you'll be skilled at spotting a good story and resourceful at standing it up.
-You'll know your way around Google but also look outside of this for ideas and research.
-You'll have the ability to spot the proposition and editorial through line from a mass of information.
-Good understanding of television production techniques and procedures.
-Strong analytical thinking and the ability to assess complex information to provide accurate and engaging summaries of research.
-Ability to work proactively and manage your own time, but also able to demonstrate judgement on appropriate referral of issues to more experienced members of the team as required.
-Good communication skills and the ability to establish positive working relations with a wide range of contacts.
