Windfall Films are looking for a Mandarin-speaking Researcher to join our team on a high-end archaeology documentary series for National Geographic. The series will follow archaeologists in China on their new excavations this season.
The ideal applicant would have experience working on factual history / archaeology / science documentaries, knowledge of Chinese history (our topics cover 1700 BCE-1500 CE), as well as a positive attitude, keen eye for detail, and meticulous organisational skills.
The role would predominantly be as a Graphics Researcher, which would involve researching stories online, gathering visual and written references from academic and published sources (including Mandarin language sources), and creating detailed story briefs on powerpoint, which would be sent to our Graphics studio in order to create the bespoke 3D graphics. The role would also involve checking the shots as they progress to ensure factual accuracy, and liaising with National Geographic's research team. The role may also involve general research and fact checking support to assist the Producers with scripting ahead of shoots and in the edit. No previous Graphics experience is necessary.
Start date: mid June 2026 (exact date TBC)
Contract Duration: Initially for 8 weeks, but with potential to extend.
Location: The role would ideally be hybrid office/home, with the team being in the London N1 office together 1-2 days per week. This is open to discussion at interview.
