Research Executive

Job Summary

The Research Executive is responsible for ensuring that the quantitative audience performance information needs of the business are met on a day-to-day basis through regular performance reporting and responding to ad-hoc requests.

The candidate must champion quantitative research; pro-actively highlighting and delivering insight to drive the business forward. Responsibilities will include managing regular reporting (TV and digital) and the our online panel.

The role reports into the Research & Insights Manager


Department

The Research and Insights department is a centre of marketplace intelligence/analysis and an access point for wider company information needs. The department remit is to help drive the development of our UK's business - maximising audiences on all platforms and therefore financial strength - through the provision of marketplace and audience intelligence, analysis and insights.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a Research or Senior Research Executive who will be responsible for helping ensure that the quantitative audience performance information needs of the business are met on a day-to-day basis through regular performance reporting and responding to ad-hoc requests.

Provided the day-to-day reporting requirements are met, the scope of the role is dependent on, and can grow with, the experience of the successful candidate. At RE level the candidate's responsibilities will include managing specific regular reports (TV and digital). At SRE level responsibilities will also include responding to detailed adhoc requests and helping ensure quality and consistency across department output. Additional responsibilities at both levels may include evaluating on-air promotional campaigns, and using quantitative research (specifically a proprietary online panel) to help the Research and Insights Manager generate audience insight.

Role-Specific Skills/Attributes

The successful candidate will be highly numerate and analytical, and have proven ability to interpret data. They will be motivated and enthusiastic, inquisitive and pro-active. They will be able to work effectively within a team, and an absolute must is that they will be passionate about TV.

Essential experience includes:
• Experience within a media research environment
• Fully conversant in TV research terms and methodology
• Day to day experience of using BARB data.
• Experience of web analytics would also be advantageous.

Desirable systems experience includes:
• Experience of using the Techedge suite of ratings analysis software
• Advanced EXCEL and POWERPOINT skills
• Omniture, Comscore and Hitwise analysis software
