Snodland, Kent

One in ten homes in the UK now have one of our clever, problem-solving products and we're widely recognised as one of the leading ecommerce innovators of the past few years. We're a British success story and our incredible
growth isn't stopping any time soon - we'd love you to join us on this exciting journey!

The Team
You'll be working with a group of great people who think independently but collaborate as a strong team to deliver exceptional results. Career progression? Absolutely - there are plenty of opportunities to grow and develop, as our rapid growth continues.

We're fully office-based
We believe that we are at our best when we're together, and that's why our team fully works from our office from our swanky new offices in Snodland, near Maidstone. This facilitates easier collaboration, encourages conversations, and sparks creativity. And there's some pretty sweet incentives to coming to the office, too, including free breakfast every day!

This Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join us on our fast-growth journey!
We're looking for a talented carpenter to join our team as Prop Maker, designing and building oneoff items to help us demonstrate and sell our range of innovative 'must have' products on TV.

This is a newly created role to support the launch of our exciting new 24/7 TV shopping channel.
Our producers will imagine clever ways of demonstrating our products and your job will be to bring those visions to life, by conceiving, designing and building custom, one-off props to enable those demonstrations to happen live on camera, in our on-site TV studio. The items you design and build will be seen by TV audiences across the country!
We're looking for someone creative, hard-working and with a 'can do' attitude, with an eye for detail and a passion for woodworking and other trades. No two days will be the same in this role!
This position would suit someone with experience as a carpenter or similar, or a keen and gifted DIYer who would like to turn their hobby into their profession. This is a fast paced role and you'll need to manufacture props quickly, to deadlines, which will mean that good time management skills are essential.
Whilst the briefing and design aspect of the role will be collaborative with the production team, you'll need to be comfortable working alone in the workshop to produce the final product.
You'll also occasionally be asked to perform general day-to-day 'handyperson' maintenance duties around our buildings, light maintenance and repairs, painting etc - however, this is only a minor part of the role.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Designing and building props for use in on-air sales pitches on our new national shopping TV channel
• Working with our producers to understand prop requirements and then brining those visions to life quickly and efficiently
• Working with various materials, such as plastic, metal and tile, but primarily plywood and
MDF, utilising various hand and power tools
• Sourcing and purchasing tools, materials & consumables as required
• Manage your own workshop, keeping it clean, tidy and safe at all times
• Repairs, maintenance and enhancements to our on-site TV studio set
• Occasional small, general 'handyperson' jobs around our buildings

You'll excel in this role if you have the following skills & experience:
• Good carpentry skills with experience using a variety of hand and power tools
• General ability to 'turn your hand' to most practical tasks
• General knowledge of different materials, in order to choose the right material for the right job
• General knowledge of Health & Safety practice for workshops
• Experience of CAD and/or 3d printing would be advantageous, but not essential
• Experience of plumbing and tiling would be advantageous, but not essential
• A full driving licence would be advantageous so that you can drive the company vans to collect materials etc.
