Promo Editor/Content Manager

Cwmbran, Wales

We are a specialist thematic channel broadcasting on the Sky platform. Our programming caters for the passionate and underserved equestrian market (over 2m people ride each month in the UK) and more generally to anyone with a passion for the outdoors. We recently relocated to Cwmbran in Wales (half an hour from Bristol and Cardiff) and we're now looking for a new promo editor/content manager to join our team.

We're looking for someone who combines exceptional creativity with great discipline and organisational skills. That's because, on the one hand, you'll be creating all of our on air promos, trails and idents from scratch (writing, editing, producing, selecting and directing v/o's etc) and on the other you'll have responsibility for all of our content management and technical specification across a growing library of programming assets.

Our goal is to create something that is both contemporary and authentic. Whilst we're passionate about what we do, we're more than happy to take a slightly irreverent approach to promotion.

Here's the job spec:

This is a great opportunity for a self-starter to develop their creative and organisational skills. Time spent in the role is divided between promo creation and editing, file-based content organisation, and the management of the edit suites in our Cwmbran office.

You will be responsible for creating and cutting all of the channel promos and idents as well as the technical ingest and re-versioning of the programming. Working alongside the Channel Manager you will have creative control over the look of our on-air branding.

You will be able to edit unsupervised using Final Cut Pro to create high quality output, whilst working to tight deadlines.

You will have excellent technical ability and will be exceptionally organised and able to maintain an efficient and well-structured content library.

Job responsibilities:
• Generate highly creative, fresh and concise promotional ideas and see them through to broadcast
• Editing promotional material for TV
• Editing clips for web
• Ingest of content from file and tape deliverables, with QC
• Encoding and delivering material to all third parties, such as broadcast play out, web distribution and any content licensees
• Editing of historical material to required lengths
• Some craft editing of new programme-length content for broadcast and web when required
• Maintenance of the edit, including VTs
• Creating on-air graphics

Essential experience
• Final Cut Studio with examples of relevant editing
• Photoshop, or similar graphics package
• Maintenance of edit suites and file-based workflow

Preferred experience
• Motion, or similar graphics work such as After Effects
• DVD Studio Pro or similar authoring tools
