Project Manager (TV / media / digital)

Twyford, Reading

The role is the day-to-day running a wide variety of projects in a very busy & growing TV broadcaster. There are a defined number of programme formats that are produced for View TV group and for customer channels. Projects will include managing and enabling projects for the onboarding and development of TV channel clients and content, production of websites, apps etc. and working with overseas suppliers, often as a ScrumMaster for a wider range of media-related projects.

Role
* Full time £42 - 48,000 basic per annum dependent on experience
* Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
* Collaborate with internal teams to scope, design, develop and implement media and digital projects
* Share appropriate previous lessons learned or best practice with stakeholders in pre-project planning
* Follow a standard process e.g. as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI) UK
* Define and achieve buy-in to project briefs based on client / organisational objectives
* Establish appropriate project governance structures
* Ensure appropriate project resource availability and allocation
* Develop detailed project plans, roadmaps, Gantt charts, spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to monitor and track progress and share these as appropriate
* Develop detailed use cases / user stories, functional requirements documents
* Develop comprehensive project documentation including risk logs and requirement specifications
* Coordinate internal resources and third parties / vendors for the execution of projects
* Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and assisted in testing efforts
* Set up, participate and lead regular project team / client conference calls / meetings
* Carry out monitoring and control activities in order to track the progress of the project
* Highlight potential and actual risks and act by exception / proactively to resolve issues
* Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate change management / verification techniques
* Oversee project accounting, costing and billing
* Report to the client or senior stakeholders on progress
* Monitor sub-contractors to ensure requirements / specifications are maintained
* Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
* Evaluate the success of the project against its benchmarking
* Report and escalate to management as needed
* Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders including third parties/vendors
* Track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals
* Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
* Close the project - including evaluating successes and challenges to enhance learning for your next project.
* May need to work outside normal working hours / shift work
* Must live within a short commute of Twyford, Reading RG10

Experience required

* Any of these accreditations: APM accredited degree, Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II, ITIL certification and evidential experience of Agile, Scrum and use of scaling
* Proven working experience in project management and developing and tracking project budgets
* Previous experience in the media industry; film, video, print, publishing, social media, events, web apps
* Project experience with TV and/or radio broadcast & digital media (but not critical)
* Experience of writing or contributing to functional and technical specifications
* Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and assignments simultaneously under strict deadlines
* Hands on experience with project management software
* Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
* Excellent teamworking experience and skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Well developed interpersonal skills and numeracy skills
* Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
* Ability to Ability to motivate people
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Familiarity with Content Management systems and HTML/CSS (useful to have but not critical)
* Experience with digital / TV project management (useful to have but not critical)
