Production Manager/Office Manager

London West End

Production Manager to organise the business, finance and employment issues in film production. As a Production Manager, you would be in charge of running the production budget and making sure that everything runs smoothly during filming.

Before production begins, your work would involve:
Meeting the producer and other senior production staff to examine scripts or program ideas
Drawing up a shooting schedules and estimating cost (Movie Magic)
Hiring crews and contractors, and negotiating rates of pay
Negotiating costs and approving the booking of resources, equipment and suppliers
Researching locations and overseeing location bookings and arranging any necessary permissions and risk assessments
Issuing relevant contracts to all Heads of Department

During filming, duties include:
Making sure that the production runs to schedule, and reporting to the producer on progress
Managing the production schedule and budget (Movie Magic)
Managing the production team and dealing with any problems
Making sure daily call sheets are produced and distributed
Making sure that insurance, health and safety rules, copyright laws and union agreements are followed

After filming, duties include:
Working with the Producer/Director to find relevant Post Production House for Editing
Working with the Producer/Director to find relevant Sound Design work
Working with the Producer/Director to source relevant companies in respect to Trailers/Artwork for film
To become a Production Manager/Office Manager you will need substantial experience in Film or TV, in-depth understanding of the production process.

Experience and track record is more important than formal qualifications. You will need a good understanding of budget management, so skills and qualifications in accountancy are useful, but a working knowledge of Movie Magic is more essential.

You will also be managing the day to day running of the Production Office. Managing staff within the office in respect to workflow, vacation, sickness, contracts of employment. Dealing with IT issues through the company who manage the office systems, dealing with our Security Company, Landlord, ordering stationary and general administrative work.
