BBC Studios Factual Entertainment are the team behind many award winning series such as The One Show, Morning Live, Dragons Den, Top Gear, Antiques Roadshow, Countryfile and Gardeners World.In our unique department we get the opportunity to work on a vast range of content, in a variety of genres, in some of the most exciting locations in UK and around the world delivering the best broadcast content possible.We are looking a Production Manager to join the team on BBC1's Morning Live, to manage the busy VT team who shoot and edit a significant number of short-form VTs to go into the daily live show. Someone who is passionate about programme making, who thrives working in a dynamic environment and who will inspire their production management teams in thinking of new, commercial and innovative ways of working.Main ResponsibilitiesTogether with the Film team Series Producer, you will be responsible for scheduling and managing the film teams based around the country shooting short-form VTs. You will also schedule and manage the busy post production team based in Manchester, who will be cutting the VTs and sending them through to go into the live daily shows. With a large team of Directors, Researchers and DiTs, post team of Edit Producers and Editors, plus a production team under you of JPM, 5 x PCs and PMAs and runners, you will have experience of managing a large team in a fast paced environment.Strong financial skills are required as you will have responsibility for managing, reporting and forecasting the budget for this section of the production.Reporting into the overall Line Producer for the wider production, yourself and the other Production Manager (for the live studio show) will together lead your production management teams, you will continually look for ways to develop and motivate the team. Proven ability to juggle multiple teams at any one time; driving forward progress and ensuring deadlines are met and priorities are clearly communicated. Are you the right candidate?Demonstrable experience in the day to day management of production staff, undertaking responsibility for their recruitment, appraisal and training.Excellent working relationships with suppliers in the outside broadcast market and wider industryKnowledge of the Manchester television production industry, suppliers, freelancers and production people.Driving savings, efficiencies and continually reviewing working practices to ensure best practice and on screen value for money.A sound understanding in health and safety procedures.
