We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Manager to join our dynamic team. As the Production Manager at The Drum, you will play a key role in overseeing the entire video production process, from conception to completion. You will be responsible for managing a small internal production team and other freelance production staff as required to deliver high-quality video content that aligns with our brand vision and engages our audience.If you are passionate about video production, possess excellent management skills, and thrive in a dynamic and creative environment, we would love to hear from you. We deliver it to our audience through multiple channels: articles and reports; TV; audio; live in person at The Drum Labs; online networking/meetings; at industry events.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the video production team, providing clear direction, guidance, and support throughout all stages of the production process.Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the Editorial, Client Services, Events, and Marketing teams, to develop creative concepts and strategies for video content that aligns with our brand identity and objectives.Plan and organise video shoots, including location scouting, casting, scheduling, and budgeting, ensuring all necessary resources are available and timelines are met.Oversee the production process, from script development and storyboarding to filming, editing, and post-production, ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained throughout.Manage the video production budgets tracking expenses, negotiating with vendors, and optimising resources to achieve cost-efficiency without compromising quality.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in video production techniques technologies, and equipment, and recommend innovative approaches to enhance the quality and impact of our video content.Collaborate with external production partners, freelancers, and agencies when necessary, ensuring seamless coordination and timely delivery of projects.Provide constructive feedback to the video production team, fostering a culture of growth, development, and excellence.Maintain a comprehensive database of video assets, ensuring proper archiving, organisation, and accessibility for future use.Ensure compliance with legal and copyright regulations in all video productions, obtaining necessary permissions and licenses when requiredRequirementsProven experience (5+ years) in video production, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in various aspects of the production process.Proficient knowledge of video production techniques, equipment, and software, including camera operation, lighting, sound recording, and video editing.Strong experience in cost control and budgeting for client workExcellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a creative team to deliver outstanding results.Strong project management abilities, including the ability to multitask, prioritise, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with internal stakeholders, external partners, and clients.Strong attention to detail, with a keen eye for visual aesthetics and storytelling.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Knowledge of the marketing and advertising industry, with an understanding of the role of video content in brand communication and engagement.Preferably, existing relationships with freelancers covering audio, camera work and visual design.BenefitsWe work on a hybrid model to ensure you get the best of both worlds - a few days a week in our Shoreditch or Glasgow offices and the rest from home.28 days annual leave + public holidaysGot that Friday feeling?
