Production Manager

London

We are looking for a capable and experienced Production Manager to join the growing team at our busy creative agency, 4-5 days per week for three months (with the possibility of a longer contract). We are currently WFH but will be returning part-time to our London offices in the coming months.

We are looking for someone with 3+ years experience in production managing high quality, fast-turnaround productions, who is a natural organiser, has great attention to detail and who can multi-task effectively. If you have the required experience, please email your CV and covering letter.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Production
• Oversee all film production projects from conception to delivery including branded content and series for digital and social media.
• Work with creative teams to scope and budget film ideas in response to client briefs, appropriate for the different areas in which Formidable operates e.g. sharable social films, scripted content, influencer campaigns, documentaries, brand films and corporate videos.
• Work alongside Senior Management and Producer/s to ensure projects run on time and on budget and are delivered to the highest possible quality, to draft production schedules including all key dates and milestones, and to find appropriate locations for filming and negotiate access, rights and costs.
• Select and recruit appropriate best-in-class crew, including but not limited to directors of photography and camera crew, sound crew, wardrobe, art department, editors and VFX specialists. Negotiate time and rates, ensuring value for money.
• Manage budget negotiations and relationships with production partners (e.g. overseas production companies)
• Oversee the creation of call sheets, providing the correct information and ensuring all cast, crew and kit arrive at shoots on time.
• Oversee health and safety planning on shoots, write risk assessments, notify insurers and book medical support (including Covid tests/protocols) when necessary. Communicate identified safety risks and solutions to Producer. Organise appropriate additional insurance cover.
• Find and arrange licences for stock/library footage when needed.
• Supervise post-production process, scheduling and booking appropriate edit resource.
• Be able to manage multiple projects at once, ensuring all have the appropriate level of resource.
Budgets & Finance
• Gather costs from suppliers and write budgets using the Formidable template. Work with Senior Management to reach target margin and prepare budgets for clients.
• When projects are underway, create and manage an accurate Cost Monitor and process invoices
Personnel Management & Line Reporting
• Manage production staff, keeping an eye on their tasks and workloads. Delegate tasks to ensure timely, successful delivery of projects, taking into consideration each colleague's professional development and on-the-job learning.
• Manage junior staff in their day-to-day duties, leading their professional development and keeping an eye on their wellbeing, providing support when needed and raising issues up to senior management when appropriate.
