Production Executive

MediaCity, Salford

BBC Childrens is the home of the UKs two most popular childrens TV channels, CBeebies and CBBC - not to mention two websites, eight apps (and counting), childrens radio content, two YouTube channels and more.

As set out in the annual corporate objectives, young audiences are a strategic priority for the BBC and their media consumption behaviour is changing rapidly thanks to the digital world they are growing up in.

BBC Childrens has a new editorial and commercial strategy called Kids 2020, which sets out many of the objectives for the department over the next 3 years and beyond. This strategy now needs to be implemented, monitored and reported against.

In addition the childrens media sector faces changes brought about by the new BBC Charter & Agreement such as a new contestable fund and the loss of the in-house guarantee for BBC Childrens. As a consequence the department will be going through a series of significant transformations, which taken together require ongoing central management and co-ordination.

The Childrens senior management team therefore needs a dedicated role to manage these transitions to new ways of working in the department, and to ensure their continued successful operation.

You will deputise for the Head of Business Operationsas required.

You will provide professional advice and guidance based on expert production and project management skills, knowledge and experience.

The Ideal Candidate
