About the role.

In this role you will be the last line of defence against errors - you'll have a focus on the news wires and all digital services.

You will take copy from reporters across news, finance, entertainment and features and use your keen eye to detect mistakes, improve the content and add pictures and graphics where relevant.

What you will be doing.

Ensuring high standards are maintained across PA's wire and digital services.
Fast, fair, and accurate subbing.
Imaginative production and enhancement of digital content.
Creating compelling headlines.
Liaising with news, video, and social media desks.
Identifying technical problems and taking action to resolve issues.
Handling breaking news.
Creating articles which increase dwell time for customers.
Supporting the Senior Production Editor leading the shift.
Identifying trending digital stories.

What you'll need.

Strong news sense and judgment.
Excellent subbing skills.
Confident knowledge of media law, including differences in Scotland.
The ability to work well under pressure.
Wide knowledge across UK and foreign news, showbiz, finance, and social media.
