Production Coordinator (Events)

Do you want to be an integral part of the Production team that brings together the cultural spectacle that is the Edinburgh Festival? The Edinburgh Festival is the largest Arts and Entertainment event in the world, made up of the many cultural festivals that take place in Edinburgh each year. The BBC has a strong history in covering and supporting the Festivals. The BBC at the Edinburgh Festivals is a truly pan-BBC event, bringing together programmes, strands and brands. As a destination, the BBC hub in Edinburgh has provided both a technical broadcast resource as well as a creative centre for the BBC's coverage.

BBC Scotland Productions are looking for an experienced live events Production Co-ordinator to work on this year's Edinburgh Festival. You will be the first point of contact for over 40 visiting BBC productions, working with the Production Manager and Event Producer co-ordinating the Audience and Runner teams to an ever-changing schedule of events; a dynamic approach to an ever-changing live environment is essential.

Main Responsibilities
* Reporting to the Production Manager, and in partnership with the editorial team, help to deliver outstanding, distinctive, multi-platform content.
* Provide logistical and coordinator support, ensuring delivery on schedule within budget and within operational and financial constraints.
* Contribute to, and help to implement, practical actions to reduce environmental impact throughout the production.
* Working to tight deadlines, sometimes under pressure, while always producing work to a high standard.
* Proactively looks for ways of improving efficiencies within a production environment, promotes diversity and advocates for new ways of working
* Providing administrative support to the production team, as and when required.
* Contributing to, and helping to implement, practical actions to reduce environmental impact throughout production.
* Maintains a safe and healthy working environment at all times, escalating any issues or areas of concern.

Are you the right candidate?
* A genuine interest in BBC Scotland Productions and/or Edinburgh Festival
* Previous experience as a Production Co-ordinator
* Experience in delivering to multiple platforms
* Knowledge of co-ordinating and delivering a range of/elements of productions on time and on budget
* Confident at negotiating rates with external suppliers and raising contracts
* Confident managing budgets and cost reporting
* Experience of Live Events
* Edinburgh Based from 2-19 August 2024 - Accommodation available if required.
* Escalate issues where needed and anticipate/understand impact of change on other people/elements of Live Events
* Attention to detail
* Excellent Communication Skills
