The Salvation Army's Video Production Unit is a small team with big impact, supporting the mission and message of this church and charity. We are recruiting a Production Assistant to support the efficient running of the unit and the films it produces. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in all stages of production, be an integral part of a production team and to learn skills to take you further along in your career.
Key Responsibilities:
You'll be responsible for the assisting with the rigging of lights, cameras, and other equipment as required, finding and negotiating fees for locations, researching productions, maintenance of equipment and the booking of rental equipment, driving the crew vehicle as well as ensuring it's well maintained. You will take responsibility for backing up video material and ensuring the archive material and drives are stored safely, preparing and encoding films for various uses including the YouTube channel, applying for music licences and ensuring all areas are kept clean and tidy.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
• A strong interest in communication through moving image, sound and picture
• Familiarity with setting up and using broadcast cameras and sound recording equipment
• A good knowledge of data/media management and storage
• A working knowledge of Mac computers
• The ability to drive a crew vehicle

This is a permanent position based at our Headquarters currently at 101 Newington Causeway, London SE1 6BN. In December 2021 we will be moving to our new, modern headquarters at Denmark Hill, London, SE5 8BQ. This exciting new building will provide a more effective workplace to help The Salvation Army better achieve its mission.
