PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

London

Job Purpose:
Reporting directly into the Senior Production Manager, the key objectives of this position are to work as the Production Assistant of the European Poker Tour television production, who supports the entire production team with varying tasks with the Senior Production Manager having overall responsibility.

The day to day role includes:
• Supporting the producers, post production team and production management team with their day to day activities
• Logging footage filmed on location and completing time coded editorial paperwork
• Understand the requirements from the Executive Producer to create high quality editorial content programming that appeals to our international broadcasters
• Logging all programmes for graphics production.
• Act as a runner on location collecting and distributing meals and refreshments for the team and helping with kit.
• Being the first point of contact for all immediate logistical needs from any member of staff
• Support Production Secretary to ensure post production paperwork is completed for all programming produced
• Understanding the technical capabilities of the equipment needed for all aspects of the productions
• Assistants with daily development tasks with the producers
• Support post production tape delivery and programme delivery requirements with production management team
• Establishes, maintains and enhances relationships with all team members
• Attends shoots on location in the UK and abroad

The successful applicant will also be responsible for working as the production assistant of the specific programmes and projects that related to Regional Tours and AFPs.

Key Responsibilities:Assisting with all logistical aspects of production staffing, co-ordinating shoots, schedules, edits, ENG teams
Logging and managing al tapes / media as it comes in
Supporting all producers within their post-production workflow - carrying out research, shot finding, graphics logging and production, ordering archive
Understanding editorial decisions made and how these will affect the production logistics
Assisting with the production of specific TV programming projects including supporting productions on set, assisting the talent, supporting the post production process, through to programme delivery to our broadcasters (these will include EPT, Regional Tours and AFP programmes)
Skills and Capabilities:

Essential:

• Must have fluent English
• Must aspire to work in the TV industry at graduate entry level
• Confident supporting a large production team
• Must be willing to travel within the UK and abroad
• Must have a valid passport
• Must be London based
• Strong process, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to establish and maintain long-term relationships
• Ability to work well with large groups
• Ability to multi-task and to adapt easily to change

Desirable:

• Basic knowledge of Avid and understanding of tapeless workflow.
• Have a detailed understanding of poker, how the game is played and what poker programmes are currently being created in various international markets


Behavioural Competencies:

• Requires a hands-on individual who is extremely organised, has excellent management and communication skills as well as being a creative thinker
• Must be a research focused person who will learn quickly about different viewership trends
• Other attributes required; outgoing, fast learner, flexible, able to think strategically and excellent with people, must be a very strong team player
