Production Assistant

Faringdon, Oxfordshire

We're a corporate production company that produce video (as well as some other shiny things) for some big and exciting clients. We're quite busy, and we work hard and we enjoy eating cake.

But we're currently working so hard in fact, that we're in need of some assistance - specifically, some production assistance.

We're looking for a production assistant with some editing experience (FCP) who can:Support the producer in organising shoots and edits
Provide practical and administrative support to the video team (producer, director, editor and sometimes a good number of freelance cake eaters)
Edit some small projects (dependent on experience)

Key responsibilities would include:
Liaising with the video team to understand projects and requirements
Providing all scheduling support as requested by the Producer
Preparing call sheets, booking accommodation & travel
Some costing & budgeting for shoots
Assisting the team with location research
Helping to maintain quality and technical standards for the video team
Some Final Cut Pro editing work - backing up projects, editors and encoding
Helping out on shoots occasionally
Demonstrating professionalism in any client contact and communication

That being said, we're a small media company, so of course the role may, from time to time, include tasks outside this job description. This allows the company to use its people in the best possible way at all times and to help employees make their contribution to a changing environment.

Skills required:
Enthusiasm for the industry and an interest in new video technologies
Personal motivation and the ability can work as a self-starter or within a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Initiative and the ability to problem solve
Flexibility and good time-management and organisational skills
A proactive disposition
Willing to work outside 'normal' office hours
A basic knowledge of non-linear editing systems preferred

The ideal candidate:
Would be a graduate of a production related course, or a relatively recent graduate with some relevant experience (paid or unpaid) and an interest in media.
Will have relevant IT skills, and won't panic at the sight of Excel or FCP.
Will be an organised, enthusiastic individual with excellent communications skills.

The right candidate will have the opportunity to develop all areas of creative and production skills in a busy but friendly production environment.

Looking forward to hearing from you, please apply with CVs through the site. As we're very busy at the moment, we may not be able to get back in touch with everyone (apologies in advance for that), but in the mean time, we're looking forward to hearing form you.
