We're a corporate production company that produce video (as well as some other shiny things) for some big and exciting clients. We're quite busy, and we work hard and we enjoy eating cake. But we're currently working so hard in fact, that we're in need of some assistance - specifically, some production assistance. We're looking for a production assistant with some editing experience (FCP) who can:Support the producer in organising shoots and editsProvide practical and administrative support to the video team (producer, director, editor and sometimes a good number of freelance cake eaters)Edit some small projects (dependent on experience) Key responsibilities would include:Liaising with the video team to understand projects and requirementsProviding all scheduling support as requested by the ProducerPreparing call sheets, booking accommodation & travelSome costing & budgeting for shootsAssisting the team with location researchHelping to maintain quality and technical standards for the video teamSome Final Cut Pro editing work - backing up projects, editors and encodingHelping out on shoots occasionallyDemonstrating professionalism in any client contact and communicationThat being said, we're a small media company, so of course the role may, from time to time, include tasks outside this job description. This allows the company to use its people in the best possible way at all times and to help employees make their contribution to a changing environment. Skills required:Enthusiasm for the industry and an interest in new video technologiesPersonal motivation and the ability can work as a self-starter or within a teamExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsInitiative and the ability to problem solveFlexibility and good time-management and organisational skillsA proactive dispositionWilling to work outside 'normal' office hoursA basic knowledge of non-linear editing systems preferredThe ideal candidate:Would be a graduate of a production related course, or a relatively recent graduate with some relevant experience (paid or unpaid) and an interest in media.Will have relevant IT skills, and won't panic at the sight of Excel or FCP.Will be an organised, enthusiastic individual with excellent communications skills. The right candidate will have the opportunity to develop all areas of creative and production skills in a busy but friendly production environment.
