Production Assistant

Bristol

We're now seeking a full-time member of the team to support our Producers and Head of Studio, to help with pre-production, production and post-production workflow, as well as trafficking of TV commercials to broadcast.

Key candidate requirements:
Experience of working in production in Production Assistant role or similar
Experience working specifically in commercials production
Extensive on-set experience in an active floor running / hands-on role
Have a valid UK driving license and be confident driving vans
Knowledge of Clearcast (Copy Central) for commercials clearances is desirable
Experience/knowledge of content delivery platforms such as Peach and Adstream would be beneficial but not mandatory

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for elements of the administration, organisation and planning work involved in a wide variety of productions, from large-scale TV commercials to smaller motion graphics projects, to radio commercials.
You will be involved at all stages of a project, working alongside the production team from development right up until completion and delivery.

As a Production Assistant, you'll need to (list is not exhaustive) be confident in the following areas:
Ensuring the production office has all necessary supplies;
Create, format, edit, manage and distribute project WIP documents, scripts, call-sheets, PPM presentations, project schedules etc;
Organise travel arrangements for cast, crew and production executives;
Organise accommodation for cast and crew;
Assist cast and crew members, sometimes running errands;
Run errands between the production office and other departments;
Raise internal Purchase Orders and manager supplier/crew invoices
Report effectively to your Production Coordinator or Producer on each project;
Make project-specific purchases e.g. shoot snacks and sundries, props, stationery, Covid-19 PPE etc.
Organise and attend Technical Recces and scoping out and solving potential problems
Reconcile shoot expenses, petty cash, floats, credit card spends etc.

You may also be involved in:
Creating animatics
Sourcing and booking crew members / studios etc.
Researching
Location scouting
Populating and handling contracts for crew, cast, locations, studios etc
Floor running on shoots (loading, unloading and driving production van, setting up the location etc.)
Completing Quality Assurance reports on TVCs prior to delivery
Checking running orders and scripts;
Keeping track of timings during a shoot;
Making schedules, shot lists, logs and other paperwork for post-production.

The role has a lot of breadth and will be broadened and defined by the successful candidate.

Additionally the role will encompass supporting the current team members in trafficking of TV ads to broadcast; full training will be given, but any prior knowledge or awareness of this process will certainly be beneficial.

You'll bring with you a love for working in a close-knit team, being on set, but also thriving on autonomy and ownership of projects and having a fastidious eye for detail.
