Starting 18th October 2021 for an initial 12 weeks with the view to extend.Top Gear is the world's leading motoring show. Going into series 32 we need a producer with a good understanding of the show who can bring fresh ideas with scale and ambition. We are looking for someone with a track record of delivering large complex shoots both on time and budget with experience in factual entertainment programming.The role would see you handle everything from single presenter films at our track at Dunsfold, in Surrey through to three presenter shoots abroad. The job is split between conceptualising film ideas, setting up films and seeing them through on location. Experience working with on-screen talent is key.Working alongside a Director and a team of Researchers and APs, the role requires a good understanding of Top Gear's editorial and an ability to deliver ground breaking films within tight deadlines. With dozens of films in production at any one time, the Producer is responsible for managing several shoots at once.The shoots themselves require the ability to think on your feet and be able to react at any given point to shifts in schedules and scripts. A proven track record of working with cars is a bonus, but not essential.Role Responsibility· To consistently achieve the best performance from on-screen talent on location· To generate ideas for films· To set up large shoots in the UK and abroad· To keep several shoots developing at once· To work closely with the Line Producer to ensure shoots are thought through in terms of Health & Safety, Insurance and budget· To work with the Researcher to put together the background information for a shoot· To work with the Script Editor to lay the foundations of the script· To be able to resolve both creative and financial problems, knowing when to escalate problems·The Ideal Candidate· Excellent track record as a highly experienced programme maker , in particular setting up large shoots both in the UK and abroad and showing clear Fact-Ent sensibilities· Experience of working with on-screen talent· The ability to troubleshoot on location· Proven track record of generating ideas for films· Scripting shoots· Experience with archive would be beneficial· Sound editorial judgement and an extensive knowledge of Health & Safety Editorial Policy· Ability to work effectively as a team member & leader on a fast turnaround, high pressure series.This role is currently London based and incorporates hybrid flexibility, combining office and home working with the view to re locating to Bristol.
