Producer/Trainer

We are looking for an experienced Producer to join BT Sport to help mentor students through the TV production process.

We are launching an exciting new project 'BT Sport Take Over' a magazine style studio show developed and produced by students, based on lifestyle, culture and events in the sporting world to be aired on BT Sport.

This project will be working with 17-20 year old students from the local boroughs of Hackney and Newham. The project aims to provide the students with an invaluable experience of working on a show created exclusively by them, under the guidance and expertise of industry professionals.

BT Sport wants to represent its diverse audience and help develop a more diverse workforce by helping prepare the students to become 'industry ready' for future employment.

The Producer will oversee and help deliver this project; the successful applicant will need to be flexible in their thought processes, to not only demonstrate creativity, but to be able to understand the younger generation.

We are looking for a person who has experience of managing a team and who has produced TV shows, magazine shows and short form content.

The ability to teach and mentor the group is essential and therefore extensive previous experience of coaching junior team members is essential.

A range of support will be provided by BT Sport. The successful candidate will be working closely with teams of BT Sport mentors which will include producers, production managers researchers, digital producers and ap's and will enjoy and very collaborative relationship with the Project Leader

What I'll be doing..

* Guiding students through the creative production process and giving practical hands-on advice, helping lead their creation and bring their vision to life

* Use their in-depth sports knowledge and news judgement to help guide the agenda, concepts and content of the project.

* Manage & produce assigned sports programmes independently with regular guidance from the responsible project leader in accordance with the brief

* Through creative production techniques and strong editorial values produce compelling content.

* Oversee all staff working on project producers, assistant producers and production assistants to create and develop students programme vision.

* Co-ordinate with members of the production and technical staff to create informative and entertaining sports programming.

* Where applicable provide leadership to students and oversee performance & development.

* Where applicable liaise & maintain excellent relationships with all project stakeholders to meet requirements of our objective.

* Tracker programme budgets and expenditure and flag any issue to project leader

* Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.


Essential
* A minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience in Broadcasting/Production/Programming. (i.e. Producing live & recorded programming from studio galleries and on-site at Outside Broadcasts and short form content.)

* Experience in managing a team of staff, students or mentoring. Experience in structuring training plans would be desirable.

* A detailed understanding of the end to end broadcast process including pre, production & post.

* Proven experience of script writing, directing shoots, editing, camera skills, gallery production, pitching ideas and working on budgets essential.

* A detailed knowledge and passion for all sports and current trends.

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

* Brilliant organisational and communication skills.

* Multi skilled operator experience is an advantage.
