Purpose of the role

The Producer - Theatre & Events is a newly created role within the company. The role will sit within our Content and Audiences team, with responsibility for providing leadership in the planning, delivery, management and development of all global, theatrical productions. Success in the role will be driven by providing creative leadership whilst working collaboratively both internally and externally, on the development of a growing range of theatrical shows and events.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide editorial and creative leadership to the Editorial team, Content & Audiences team, and Rights Management team on all new Theatre shows, and events.
• To be a key architect of an overall company-wide strategy - to develop invigorating concepts, new writing, production design, and plans to creatively execute new theatre shows and live events rigorously adhering to the DNA of Bing, and consistent across all platforms.
• To help evaluate, choose and manage external partners to help Acamar to produce new Theatre shows and events to a world-class standard.
• To help to identify, select, cast and contract a wide range of partnership and creative talent across all areas of theatre and event productions.

• Work closely with the Director of Partnerships and Promotions on specific live show events in the UK and Internationally, based on experiential strategy and within detailed budget and financial parameters. To also work closely with our Rights Management team across theatre, cinema, theme-parks, shopping centres/malls and other events.
• Work closely with the Product Development team on character representation e.g. puppets.
• Manage the production process from script to stage on live shows and any theatre production related shows across the globe for Bing.
• Pro actively research and develop new productions.
• Manage production budgets for theatre shows and events.
• To help to create and manage productions which adhere to both budget and schedule, whilst maintaining world class standards.
• Identify cross-promotional opportunities within the theatrical world.
• The role will work closely with internal teams, particularly creative and production to ensure that the content and shows produced remain true to the heart of the Bing DNA.
• Align all theatrical work with upcoming productions across the board for Bing TV Series, short form animation, music, nursery rhymes, interactive educational content for mobile, audio story-telling and beyond.

• Someone who is capable of delivering our projects and shows from concept to stage.
• Someone who can combine producing and international project management on a day-to-day basis.
• Equally experienced in the creation of content as well as the logistics and strategy aspect of theatrical live shows.
• An understanding of character and willingness to translate that knowledge to our Bing DNA.
• Someone who strives to produce world class content.


Essential Skills & Experience

• Able to provide creative and editorial leadership both within Acamar and to our external partners
• Significant demonstrable experience of producing theatre shows
• Experience of the writing process for preschool theatre productions
• Experience of creating theatrical workshops for preschool children
• Full awareness of competitor activity to assist in gaining market-leading advantage
• Proven track record of multi-project managing
• Experience liaising with external production companies
• Experience of managing budgets and schedules
• Strong attention to detail, highly-tuned editorial eye
• Ability to be flexible and versatile
• Forward thinking with creative insight
• Entrepreneurial, articulate and personable with excellent presentation, communication negotiation and influencing skills
• Uncompromising energy, drive and focus within a very past paced and rapidly evolving organisation

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience of producing a theatre show that has been scaled out globally
• Experience of working in an International role - understanding of all territory needs, trends and opportunities
• Experience of creating theatre productions for pre-existing preschool shows
• Experience / deep understanding of the Montessori Theory
• International language(s)
• Computer literate and confident with Microsoft and Mac software

• Must be willing to travel domestically and/or internationally as required
• Based at Acamar Head Office (Camden)
• Full Time, permanent position
• Core office hours are Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm, with out of office hours as and when required
