The PR Manager is responsible for leading the strategy and implementation of communications campaigns for our initiatives such as show launches, audience outreach activities and consumer products releases. Reporting to the Communications Director, the main focus of the role is to devise and execute integrated PR campaigns that support the strategic objectives of the channels, aiming to generate high-impact, targeted news and features that significantly raise the profile of the network in a variety of UK media - consumer and trade.This position will work with the Communications Director to support corporate, trade and internal communications initiatives as required. The PR Manager has a significant role in leading cross-departmental teams on a variety of projects and will liaise regularly with other members of the team, both UK and international, to help identify and co-ordinate key opportunities for PR activity and to ensure that announcements and pitches are strategically co-ordinated. DepartmentThe Press and PR department manages the public awareness and reputation of the network through a wide variety of media and channels (such as newspapers, magazines, TV, websites, blogs and any other ways we can think of!). Our aim is to inform our audiences (both consumer and commercial) about our UK company, our programming and the great work we do both off and on air. Our work is hugely varied; often we're dealing directly with journalists to set up (or respond to) a news story generated through a show, event or product launch. We're always planning new campaigns and initiatives to engage with our audiences via media. The types of activity can be anything from competitions to screening events and 'orange carpet' launches. We're always on the hunt for new ideas. The company has a unique ethos of 'putting kids first' in everything that it does and it's the PR and Marketing department's job to ensure that that this message is constant in all of the campaigns, merchandising and general information that we create and broadcast. Key Responsibilities•To lead the strategy and implementation of innovative PR campaigns across our network including consumer products, Jr.,toons as well their associated website.· To execute PR campaigns with a view to maximising positive exposure for the channels, consumer products and the network.· To brief and manage external agencies on designated projects eg. Programming and our Kids' Choice Awards· To liaise with all relevant teams internally to ensure clarity and transparency of press information.· To liaise with all relevant external PR contacts such as production and licensee publicity teams and agencies as required.· To look for and develop opportunities to reinforce the positioning of the brand through strategic partnerships .· To support the Communications Director in devising PR strategies for the network in line with the overall business objectives and on crisis communications.· To support our wider trade and corporate strategy as required. · Contributing to the annual and quarterly PR plans for the network· Liasing with journalists to sell-in news and feature stories.· Writing and distributing press releases, statements and Q&A's as appropriate. · Managing events and press attendance, including travel and hosting responsibilities on press trips.· Preparing briefing documents for PR agency, providing them with the materials they need and monitoring their output and results.· Providing information for trade and internal communications, as required· Collating reports for management/International as required.· Responsibility for press budgets as required.Role-Specific Skills/Attributes•Demonstrable PR experience, ideally within a TV/Kids/Youth or Consumer Products sector•Proven ability to deliver high-impact integrated PR campaigns•Strong writing skills•Solid understanding of UK media landscape•Established journalist contacts across a broad range of media•Clear understanding of target audience•An enthusiastic, can-do attitude•The ability to manage multiple projects and to work under pressure when required
