Post Production Technical Assistant

Leeds

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Post Production Technical Assistant. In this role you will play a key part in the Content Operations team supporting the post production resources for the OTT sports platform, DAZN. You will be responsible for setting up edit suites at the start of a project, assist with media management and operationally implement file based workflows. As well as this, you will provide first line support for online and offline editing systems, for clients and editors. The Technical Assistant works in conjunction with a team of experienced editors, post production engineers, media managers and workflow specialists; working within a shifted rota system. Technical training will be provided to progress your career development.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN YOUR NEW ROLE? - % of role

Assisting the preparation and setup of offline and online edit suites. 5
Provide first line operational support for Premiere Pro & Dalet editing systems. 15
Provide strong operational editing assistance to clients. 10
Capture and ingest media from various sources, transcoding content and adhering to stipulated file based workflows. 35
Be responsible for instigating and overseeing the downloading and uploading of content. 15
Assist with the scheduling of Brio records and other recording methods. 10
Assist and support media management needs, including supporting archive processes. 5
Assist with the quality control of digital media encodes and broadcast deliverables. 5

DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS?

Experience working with Adobe Premiere editing systems 3
Experience of dealing with clients in a service environment and being able to communicate technical and non-technical information well 4
A basic understanding of video file formats and codecs is required 2
Experience importing, exporting, transcoding, converting files and re-linking sequences 2
Confident using PC systems and basic use of Mac and Linux systems 4
Willingness to travel and work within our other locations as needed 4

DO YOU HAVE THESE DESIRABLES?

Candidates must be educated to at least HND level in a media or technically related subject.
Experience working as a Runner, Production Assistant or Technical Assistant within a broadcast environment is desirable
Experience using MAM storage systems, such as Avid Interplay and Dalet
Some experience of Pro Tools systems - supporting small technical issues, loading content into sessions and exporting media
Experience editing own creative features and short-form content
Basic understanding of networking
Experience and knowledge of media management tools
