Post-Production Technical Assistant / Assistant Editor

Archer's Mark are looking to appoint a technical assistant / assistant editor on a rolling monthly basis, to work in our vibrant post-production department, with a view to the position becoming full-time in the near future.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with great communication skills. The position requires an excellent knowledge of post-production workflow, data management, editing software / codecs and experience of media delivery and versioning processes.

Responsibilities include:
• Supporting all senior and freelance editors with technical requests
• Delivering projects to producers in a variety of codecs via differing platforms
• Backing up, transcoding, filing and managing rushes
• Archiving delivered projects to LTO
• Server management and organisation
• Liaising with external technical support and post houses
• Edit amends and delivery exports of existing projects
• Media managing and conforming for grade
• Exporting OMF, EDL, AIF, DPX, TIFF, Quicktimes, MP4's for post facilities
• Edit selects, sound syncing and project set up
• Technical maintenance of hard drives, software, hardware, licenses and updates
• Servicing technical requests from post / production departments

Essential skills include:
• Fully Mac literate, competent PC skills, working knowledge of Adobe programs
• Outstanding knowledge of most NLE software including FCP, AVID and Premiere Pro
• Good understanding of Codecs, compression, export and delivery processes
• Good understanding of online video platforms, file delivery and upload / download processes
• Experience of a variety of post software including DaVinci Resolve, REDcine, After effects
• Experience with RED/DSLR workflows - including ingest, transcode and conform
• Basic knowledge of offline/online workflows
• Basic understanding of servers and general media storage
• Experience with archiving - Particularly LTO
• Experience delivering projects for online, film and television
• Willingness to learn new software and keep abreast of advancements in technology
• Outstanding communication skills, to be comfortable liaising with editor's, producers and Head of
Production
• Highly organised with a proven ability to prioritise a challenging workload effectively
• A confident, team player, pro-active, systematic and efficient, with a high level of attention to detail
• A healthy interest in film and willingness to learn feature film delivery practices such as DCP
creation
• Self-starter, experience in a similar role in a digital media environment
• Educated to a degree level
