The RoleAs the Video Post Production Manager (Moving Image Department) you'll be responsible for managing the post production at Smyle ensuring projects are successfully delivered successfully to deadlines and budgets. This will include responsibility for budgeting, staffing, QC and management of internal post production facilities and workflows.Responsibilities:Technical and workflowYou'll advise on equipment and systems, and alongside our IT supplier provide the technical support required in the running of six HD/4K edit suites.Ensure we are using innovative solutions to improve the efficiency of the department.Ensure any on location post production is being completed to the correct standard.Assisting the production team with post specific briefs and questions.Scheduling/Planning/StaffingYou will be responsible for the coordination and scheduling of In-house and freelance staff to ensure jobs are completed on time and on budget.Advise/work with the production management team to ensure our freelance pool is kept up to date with the correct required skillset.Manage the onboarding of freelance and contract staff to ensure workflow and asset management guidelines are followed.BudgetingWorking with producers to assess, review and refine post budget allocations on a project by project basis.Tracking and management of post budgets, advising when changes are required.Day to day update of project budgets including raising PO's for external suppliers where required.Management and deliveryLiaising with producers and production managers and clients re deadlines and deliverables.You will be responsible for ensuring the day to day running of the shared server, the accurate backup and archive of footage from the NAS to LTO tape.General additional post production responsibilities may also include ingest of media from shoots, ensuring links and files are delivered as required.Ensuring all content is delivered on spec and to the highest quality.OtherThe ability to take on other administrative tasks as required by the business.ReportsInitally the role will have one direct report, our in-house Editor.Qualifications requiredPrevious, comparable experience in a similar level role within post productionSkills requiredExcellent knowledge of the post production processExperience in managing/leading a team and ensure all are working to deadlines.Excellent organisational, interpersonal and management skillsExcellent level of knowledge of the Adobe CC suite especially Premiere and After Effects and its use for digital and broadcast delivery.Excellent written and oral skills.Knowledge and experience in managing assets on a shared server system.Proven experience in managing budgets and client relationships.
