Pipeline Technical Artist

Brighton hybrid / Remote

The TrailerFarm is looking for a Pipeline Technical Artist to join us making cinematic game trailers, intro sequences and cut scenes for some amazing games industry clients.

We're a collective of creative, technical artists making hype-worthy, award-winning content for video games. We are the team behind the double Clio Award-winning "So Happy Together" Trailer for Borderlands 3, the first ever PS5 trailer for Godfall, the Official Launch trailer for Roblox's Adopt Me and many more. While trailers are massive to us, our Unreal and Unity cinematics expertise means that game developers also come to us for intro sequences, in-game cutscenes and all stages of cinematic visualisation. Our teams work on a number of exciting IPs every year and we have lots of awesome projects in the pipeline so are looking to expand our team.

OVERVIEW:
We're looking for a technical artist to join our team to support the day-to-day running of projects. You will have ideally been working either at a game studio or production house as a Technical Artist - Pipeline, or on projects in the TV and Film industry as a Pipeline TD.

To date this role has been part of the TAs remit, but as we've grown we want to make this a dedicated role in our team. As we run in-engine cinematics, CG/offline rendered and game capture projects, the ideal candidate will want to get stuck in with all pipelines and look to champion a workflow that allows for consistencies and efficiencies across all our projects, for all our artists.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be working closely with our Cinematic Leads, Animation Leads, and Technical Lead to ensure that we are following the most logical technical pipeline for a project
You will assess assets sent from the client and advise on their status and usability
You will discuss blockers with the client's development team and establish a solution that works within the timelines & scope
You will be a key member of the technical team to ensure that critical technological assessment happens early and smoothly
You will assist in the development of internal pipelines and tools to boost workflow efficiency
COMPETENCIES:

A degree in computer science, or similar
3-4 years experience in an agency/ games developer
Strong understanding of both online and offline 3D pipelines
Experience working with Unreal, Unity or other game engines
Good Maya Python skills (Mel is acceptable)
Good working knowledge of C# in Unity a plus
Good working knowledge of Unreal Blueprints a plus
Great technical knowledge and handle on the major industry software

REQUIREMENTS:
The ability to work to tight deadlines across concurrent projects is essential
The ability to interact with the entire team in order, to determine the creative and technical requirements of projects is integral to this role
The ability to problem-solve and flag up potential problems is necessary
A solid work ethic and positive attitude in the face of challenging situations is vital
Attention to detail is essential
Excellent team working and communication skills
Strong problem solving skills
