Purpose:

Picture Editor is responsible to Assembling all raw footage with camera shots either recorded or transferred packages to live, oversee the quality of progress and quality control of the project to the Alaraby TV standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Assembling all raw footage with camera shots either recorded or transferred onto video tape in preparation for inputting the computer
Inputting uncut rushes and sound, and synchronizing and storing them into files on the computer
Digitally cutting the files to put together the sequence of the film and deciding what is usable
Creating an or assembly edit of the programme / film and determining the exact cutting for the next and final stages
Reordering and tweaking the content to ensure the logical sequencing and smooth running of the film/video
Overseeing the quality and progress of audio and video engineering and editing
Quality control the final product before broadcasting to reflect Alaraby TV policies and approaches.
Reporting on and monitoring quality assurance of sites.
Meeting the OFCOM standards.
Understand our technical standards
Understands & meets channels broadcast & audio/video standards
Ability to perform under pressure in a Live news environment
Key Skills/ Personal Attributes and Knowledge:

Experience of working on a busy picture desk -ideally broadcast but if not, then within a busy media title
Extensive knowledge and experience in Adobe Premiere and/or different editing software
Capacity to communicate with multi lingual staffs.
Creative eye and artistic sensibility
Ability to work under pressure and achieve targets within deadline
Good organisational skill
Qualifications & Requirements:

Excellent verbal and written skills in Arabic is Essential
Relevant qualification in photography/film/television, communications or media studies, English or business studies preferred.
3 years' experience in relevant field
Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
