Online Avid Editor

London

Exciting opportunity to work within an in-house creative facility in a well known broadcaster.

Experienced Avid online editor required, AFX and grading skills desirable.

The Online Editor will work within the Production/Creative Services team, who are responsible for all of the production logistics on the planning, creation and delivery of promotional output for both the UK and Emerging Markets business units.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a broadcast online editor position with responsibility to online, colour correct and version promotional material for channels across Europe.
Tasks will include (but not limited to): colour correction, title and picture animation creation and aspect ratio identification and correction.
AVID skills: The candidate will have a full knowledge of Avid Symphony including the Avid Effects palette. Working knowledge of V6 an advantage.
Further AVID skills: The candidate will have a good understanding of the ISIS storage system and the Interplay operating system. Full knowledge of end to end tapeless workflow required.
Knowledge of AFX and Object Matrix is also beneficial.
Grading skills are highly desirable.
The candidate must be able to handle a complex, multi-language versioning workload and work closely with the production team to ensure all deliverables are created accurately and to schedule
The online editor will also work closely with the rest of the post team and have holistic view of the online departments' workload; reporting any issues in a timely fashion, proactively reviewing workflow and protocols, and make suggestions for improvement where required.
The online editor must also ensure that the promotional output is technically compliant to the appropriate technical specifications for the channel.
The online editor will also work closely with the Production/Facility Manager to maintain the smooth running of the facility area as well as take a key role in the development of the Post Production Facility Assistants.
Further responsibilities are to ensure that projects are clearly adhering to the agreed naming conventions, and that the system is backed-up and projects can be accessed and located at a later date
In line with the rest of the post production department, the online editor must accurately reflect work carried out daily in the Farmer's Wife scheduling system.
There is an expectation that the editor will keep up to date with new software releases by Avid as they are released and keep abreast of changes in the industry.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Proven experience as an online editor in a broadcast or facility environment.
To have a high level working knowledge of Avid and the Avid product family
Fully conversant with file based workflows
A good working knowledge of the promo production workflow
Highly organised & good problem solver
Proactive approach, a self-starter
Exceptional communication and people skills
Strong at relationship building
Broadcast technical knowledge (with perhaps a background in tech QC)
Flexible work approach
Accuracy with great attention to detail
Remain calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines.
