SSVC, the parent group behind Forces TV and BFBS Radio, has a vacancy for a Video Journalist working across a wide range of stories on our main TV and radio channels.

The post will initially be offered as a 12 month fixed-term contract based in Scotland. This position will be based on a mobile contract meaning there may be a future opportunity and requirement to work overseas.

The successful candidate will already have broadcast news experience and a good knowledge of new media. You'll be a strong and self-motivated journalist with the ability to manage your workload effectively under pressure and to a demanding schedule.

We are looking for a cross platform reporter who will identify, set up and film their own stories providing content for TV, Digital and radio platforms as appropriate. The successful candidate will already have reporting experience and strong technical skills with experience of editing their own stories. You will have a journalism qualification, although training will be given on our specific kit. Knowledge of the military community would be an advantage. Good written and spoken English are essential.

Candidates for this post will also be expected to have a good knowledge of Scottish issues.

There will be a need for UK travel including overnights and it may be necessary to work at weekends or evening so flexibility and a full driving licence are required.
