MMA and Boxing Writer

Your Role: As an MMA and Boxing Writer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality, engaging, and insightful content that makes talkSPORT.com a must-visit destination for fight fans. If you have a deep understanding of mixed martial arts and boxing, a knack for storytelling, and a passion for digital sports journalism, we want to hear from you.

Day to day you will:
Write engaging, accurate, and timely content covering MMA and boxing, including news, features, fight previews, analysis, and reaction pieces.
Provide insightful coverage of major MMA promotions and boxing events worldwide.
Develop and pitch original story ideas, ensuring a fresh and diverse range of coverage.
Conduct exclusive interviews with fighters, coaches, and industry insiders.
Work closely with editors to ensure content aligns with talkSPORT's editorial tone and style.
Utilise SEO best practices to optimise content for search and audience growth.
React quickly to breaking news, ensuring talkSPORT.com remains ahead of the competition.
Incorporate multimedia elements, such as images, graphics, and video clips, to enhance storytelling.
Collaborate with social media and video teams to amplify content across platforms.

What we are looking for from you:
Proven experience in sports journalism, with a strong emphasis on MMA coverage.
A deep knowledge of mixed martial arts, from technical fight breakdowns to behind-the-scenes industry developments.
A passion for boxing, with an understanding of key figures, events, and historical context.
Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling, accurate, and engaging content.
Strong interviewing skills, with experience securing and conducting interviews with athletes and key stakeholders.
An understanding of SEO principles and audience growth strategies.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently under deadline pressure, particularly during fight nights.
Experience using content management systems (CMS) and basic image editing tools.
A self-starter with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
