We are an in-house post production facility serving 2 production companies within the Tinopolis group - Mentorn Media and Sunset + Vine. With a 12 FCP edit suite facility based out of the West London offices, MSV Post is the primary post house for all Mentorn and Sunset+Vine productions, covering everything from long running, fast turnaround sports programming, long form documentaries to factual entertainment series. MSV has a fully equipped MCR and satellite down-linking facilities.

MCR Operator Job Description:

Hours: Shift patterns covering 37.5 hours pw with an average of 5 days per week.
NB this may include Saturdays or Sundays.

1) Early Shift: 8am - 4.30pm
2) Late Shift: 1.30pm - 10pm alternating each week.

Answering to: Technical Manager and Head of Post Production.

Responsibilities:
• To assist the Technicians, MCR Supervisor and administration staff in the efficient running of the facility and help to facilitate the needs of a wide variety of productions.
• To complete machine room and basic FCP edit tasks as requested to include digisiting/ingesting, tape-to-tape transfers, DVD authoring, encoding, FTP uploads, file based acquisition management and front panel editing.
• To complete Satellite Downlinking involving producing general downloading reports.
• To work to production and delivery deadlines.
Key Skills Required:
• Excellent IT skills, especially with Mac OS X.
• A team player with good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage own time effectively.
• Precise attention to detail.
• Initiative and problem solving skills.
• Experience with broadcast tape formats and basic knowledge of FCP and Avid
is required.
• Experience of working in client or customer based industry.
• Ability to be diplomatic and sensitive when dealing with clients.
• Experience of any file based tape acquisition and any shooting experience helpful.
• Although not essential, Engineering degree would be advantageous.
