MCR Manager

London

This is a perfect position for a senior edit assistant wanting to progress to the next stage. We are looking to recruit an MCR Manager to join our busy, reliable and technical team in the centre of Soho.

The ideal applicant will be hard working, conscientious, and diligent with excellent communication skills and an ability to manage a team and work efficiently making best use of the resources available.

Key responsibilities but not limited to:
• Delegating work to the team and helping them develop their skill sets as well as helping with developing new workflows to provide technical excellence to our clients.
• Being first line of technical support not only to clients but to production ensuring smooth running of work to all departments.
• An ability to work with clients and colleagues alike is a must to reinforce Platforms boutique level of service and work culture.

Essential Skills:
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a post-production facility.
• Managing a team of operators and being able to develop individual skill sets.
• Managing workloads across the department.
• In depth knowledge of researching and producing tailored workflows for projects across all aspects of Post Production.
• Creating workflows for delivery of UK TX packages and other final file formats.
• Constructing and deconstructing internal and hired edit suites, including testing Avid editing software with relevant breakout hardware.
• Installing & configuring HD and SD sync generators, monitors and waveforms etc.
• First line maintenance on Avid Nexis and Tier2 storage systems.
• Experience using remote software and ability to install. To work internally and externally.
• First line IT knowledge (PC, Mac) including IP addresses, Windows servers, maintaining performance on staff and client machines.
• Performing QCs as per DPP guidelines and training staff to QC.

Desired Skills:
• Working knowledge of Flame and Baselight suites
• Laying and terminating video, fibre and network cables between suites and MCR.
• Legacy knowledge of HDCAM-SR, HDCAM, Digital Betacam including duplication.
• Working IT knowledge of Linux systems.
• Experience using ScheduALL
